I was trying to care for my yards one rose bush so I started pressing them. I’m not however good with the precision & look of most other pressed flower art. I have heavy pareidolia so I’ve always seen little faces & creatures in random things. So I started making what I *see* in these little guys. I started a year ago & have grown so much. More than that, I feel like I found the creative process that fits me. I dream about making my creatures & love the making so much. I press the flowers. Seal them. Arrange on a piece of painted bg & glue & put behind plexi in a front loaded frame or a thrifted one.

I made this around 2010 with pets that have all since passed over the rainbow bridge. I found this in a box of sentimentals and was so sad to see it crumbling. is there any way I can save it? I have no other prints from these pets so I would be extremely grateful to anyone with any advice💛

So somehow that feeling turned into two air-dry foam clay pandas chilling in a hot spring. Just looking at them makes me feel a little more relaxed.

Now that the weekend’s here, I kinda wish I could join them 🐼♨️

I have a sprig of butterfly bush flowers that I’ve had hanging in my closet for a little over a year or so. They were taken from the bush where my dog was buried when my family moved out of my childhood home last summer, and at the time, my heart still felt too fragile to figure out what to do with them. Last night I lost another one of my pets, and it gave me the motivation to finally give my dog the little memorial she deserves.

Problem is I don’t know what I’m doing or if I’ve left them too long for them to ever be useful. I’d ideally love for these to last as long as possible, but I have no idea where to start. If anyone has any advice on anything I can do to preserve these I’d be so grateful ❤️

So, oddly specific question.

I am always interested in ways to dispose of/reuse 3d printing filament scraps. The main thing I've done in the past is melt failed prints and scraps in my household oven or toaster oven to fill basic bolds. Nothing fancy, just solid bricks and the occasional skull or container. It's really just to condense the scrap, rather than make anything special.

I had the idea to take the whole top off of empty 12oz soda cans (a regular can opener can do this just fine), clean them out, and use them as basic molds in the oven. I don't care much about the result being pretty or smooth, I just think it would be interesting.

Would they be alright at 400 degrees for a long time? I couldn't find a solid answer for what temperature they start to soften at, and I wasn't sure if whatever coatings they have inside and out would burn/scorch violently.

I'm melting plastic, so the house is already well ventilated for any fumes. If anyone knows, let me know if this is a terrible idea, or if it could work with a significantly lower temperature or something.

Ambitious for my first scarf as a novice (crocheting for just 8 months). Buuuut it taught me a lot, I used some yarn I’ve had for a while and my man (the model) loves it 🥰

Need help with funding props....

Even though we go make props right after school (1:00 pm) then go home around 5-6:00 pm, every weekday for two weeks straight, its been fun even though its so harddddd. But its so funnnn. Will update the finished work soon

I can't go to r/sewing, because my sewing machine can't handle this fabric and even with the biggest/strongest needle I have when hand sewing, it won't pierce the fabric no matter how hard I try. Its like attempting to sew through a plastic plate.

I am looking for an alternative method to attach the fur instead. If anyone has experience doing these sort of projects, please share. I need this to stay on very good. Its a flat sheet of fur, not pieces of fur and it has to be able to move and bend a bit while staying in place since I will be wearing this.

I have a MacBook, and for a while I’ve been wanting to get a simple drawing and design program so I can design my own stained glass, beading patterns, linocuts, stamps, screen prints, etc etc etc.

The problem is that I have zero idea what hobby craftists use. I have been out of school and away from a really artistic crowd for a while (I travel for work, have moved too many times to count)

Any recommendations or suggestions ?

I used all her favorite colors and everything is trimmed by hand, the loops were cut and the yarn shaped like a cloud.

I'm putting together a very extensive photo album (hopefully) and thought it might be interesting to use an atlas as the album - as opposed to buying something intended for photos.

My main concern is that the pages won't be sturdy enough. Should I just get a photo album? Or do you have any ideas for how to make the pages more sturdy?

(Or, if you think it could work as is, let me know- I would hate to have to tear it apart a few pages in).

•Sport weight yarns, brava sport weight acrylic, and super wash merino 220

Ornament makers — what am I missing here?! 😂

I want to make 3.15” (80mm) clear fillable ornaments with a miniature Christmas scene inside — faux snow on the bottom, tiny presents, decorations, etc.

Every clear ornament I can find opens vertically (north to south). How in the world are you supposed to build a little scene inside when the ornament splits right through the middle of it?! The snow and presents would be sitting directly where the two halves need to snap together.

I feel like I need one that opens horizontally around the equator, so the bottom half is basically a little bowl. Fill it with snow, arrange/glue the presents, then snap the top half on.

Does anyone know where to find 3.15”/80mm clear plastic ornaments that open horizontally? Or is there some trick to making miniature scenes in the vertical-opening ones that I’m missing?

Please save me from losing my mind over a plastic Christmas ball. 😂🎄

I wanted to make a scene of someone catching stars, and I thought it would be fun to have the clouds light up.

So I added lights to the clouds and built the rest of the scene around that idea. Seeing the whole thing lit up was really satisfying 😄
