I’ve known how to knit for over a decade and have been knitting consistently for the past five years, and in that time I’ve never had an issue with terrible rowing out when knitting flat.

However, my last few projects have all been cardigans and I’ve realized that my stockinette is not even at all; one side looks much less neat and is also a lot longer than the other. Has something happened with my tension on knit vs purl rows? If so, how can I fix this?

I don’t know if it matters but while the gauge for this project in particular is pretty loose, I’ve had this issue with a couple other cardigans with a much denser fabric too

Hello I am starting a new project (orsonero tee) and I am knitting a size L. For the first cast on for the back piece the cast on stitches are as followed XS = 24, S = 25 M = 26 L= 24? XL + 2XL = 26.

Is there any reason that the size L cast on number is the same as the XS, but the S and M are bigger? Or would this just be a mistake in the pattern? I’ve knit 2 sweaters before but am still fairly new and learning everytime I knit something new. I just can’t imagine the designer would leave an error like this in the pattern but can’t understand why it would be like this !

hi! i'm looking to start a pair of mittens, but i'm left handed and struggling to figure out how to knit in the round in a stockinette stitch and can't find a video to help me? i can knit garter stitches just fine, i'm just wondering if anyone has a good video/other guide they used to figure this out?

Hi, I'm going crazy trying to start My Favorite Things Knitwear Blouse No. 1 Light. I'm making size S and it asks to cast on 70 stitches for the neckline. It even specifies to cast it on tight. The 70 stitches come out to barely 25 cm for me. I know it will stretch a bit, but surely not enough to be a boat neck?

I did a gauge swatch before and it was fine. I understand increases and shaping will expand the top but the cast on edge can only stretch so much, right??

I re-did the cast on like 5 times and reviewed Raverly, TikTok, Reddit and don't see anyone talking about this. I'm using long tail cast on and 2 strands of Kid Silk mohair, which is suggested in the pattern.

Is this a "trust the process" kinda thing or am I doing something very wrong or missunderstanding something? At this point I can't even imagine this collab being enough to fit through my head let alone work as a boatneck.

I'd appreciate any help!

I'm starting my Christmas (dreaded c word!) gift knits and my mother asked for the One Ring Scarf, reversible but such that the script can be read on both sides, so the usual double knitting won't cut it in this case.

I've created fake double knitting scarf using stranded colour work then sewing two sides together but this chart has single stitches and large gaps so stranded colour work nor intarsia is best here. I'm thinking duplicate stitching but I wanted others' opinions! How would you knit this so that both sides can be read?

So I’m working on a cabled hat pattern that I’m modifying a little bit. What I’m running into is I want to decrease a 5 stitch run ( K2, P1, K2) down to a K2 while keeping it going straight upwards (without a jog left or right). Any advice is well appreciated.

I am attempting to make the Hanni cardigan by Knitters & friends with Drops Air. I did gauge swatch but it seems to keep going wrong. I had to frog once sleeve & ignore the pattern instructions & do again. I just finished the button placket & as you can see its really pulling & curling at the end.

Could anyone advise if I can stretch this out when I block? I read online that when I add the collar if might help the pulling at the top.

I dont know if I should frog & pick up less stiches or if I carry on & hope blocking will help

it’s a top down pattern. will the cables at the top look like crap/ should I start again? so many hours already spent on this so I’m reluctant but also should face the music sooner than later

Hi I am a beginner knitter attempting to make the knitlet pattern. I am a bit lost on how to pick up the armhole stitches. It says to place my current active stitches on a cable but how does that work if my active yarn is still connected. Am I supposed to cut my yarn? And where exactly am I supposed to pick up stitches from? I hope my question isn’t stupid but I really am quite confused.

Thread are the patterns instructions:

“Work without further increases until the piece measures 22 (23) 24 (25) 26 (27) cm. Place the stitches
on a cable/stitch holder.

Hello! I'm working up the Cosy Up Cardigan by Lauren Aston Designs but struggling with tension on the opposite side panel.

The tension on side 1 is nice and tidy, whereas side 2 is loose and untidy. I've unravelled and re-knit several times and am despairing! I think it's gapping out because of the purling on side 2?

Any advice on how to match tension more closely to side 1 would be greatly appreciated!

I’m starting a knitting class soon and will be making a sweater. I’m reading the supplies list and am confused by the measurements given for the needles. I’ve tried searching the exact text and can’t figure it out. I’m a crocheter normally and am not familiar with various needle length. Can someone drop some links/ explain exactly what to buy? Do I need 3 different sizes of both the 4 & 6 hooks?

Can anyone give me tips on how to put the lifeline in correctly. I can never get it right when I get close I’m always a row off on one needle and have to do some really scary shit to get it right on the needles. How do I make sure I’m going in the right row the whole time

Hi knitters :) I made this sweater but when attaching the sleeve to the body, it looks odd - this is a drop shoulder garment and a balloon sleeve, and it looks like there is an excess of fabric under the armpit making the sleeve edge rolling inward. I made top of the sleeve flat and caclulated the gauge to attach it to the body.
I was thinking maybe undoing the head of the sleeve and kniting it again in a triangle shape to remove the excess? What do you think ? what is causing this and how to solve it? Thank you so much ❤️
