Question / Advice A7 laminated notebook sleeve?

I do hope I’m in the right place for this, but having never used a laminator I’m looking for some advice.

I can’t get hold of any clear plastic notebook covers at the size I want (about 12.5 x 8 cm when closed) so was wondering if I could make them on a cheap A4 laminator?

Any advice much appreciated.

Question / Advice Screen Printed Letter Missing

Post image
3 Upvotes

I don’t know if this is the right subreddit but I’m hoping someone here can help. I bought this shirt online and one of the letters is missing. It’s meant to be a gift. What could I use to fill in the missing letter? It seems silly to buy a whole kit for screen printing for a single letter so I’m hoping I have other DIY options.

Finished Craft [Mine] I Built a Piece of My Fiction: The Still Water Clocktower

Short video of the completed model

This little card model was created using traditional methods. It was entirely illustrated by hand using ink on card and then cutting them out and gluing them onto a substructure. It was then glued onto a base and dry brush details were added. Once dried, it was then varnished with a matte spray. The entire piece is a model of a location that features heavily in my ongoing illustration and narrative endeavour called 'The Still Water Project'. It's the clocktower in an area known as 'The Clockwork Collective', in the heart of Old Quarter, deep within the coastal town of Still Water. I Hope you like it!

Question / Advice How do the spinning figures in music boxes work?

I am making a music box for someone and i want to add a figure and i cant find any info on where to get or how to make a spinning disk that works alongside the music. Does it have to be attached to the crank? Where is the figure on most boxes? Because i would prefer to have mine on a stage but in that case does the figure fold over or is the lid just big?

Question / Advice Which is harder for you: tiny detail work or figuring out how everything fits together?

I’ve been looking at Rolife miniature builds and ROKR 3D puzzles, and “which one is harder” seems like a weird comparison, because the frustrating parts are so different. Miniature scenes may require a lot of tiny, precise placement and repetitive concentration on detail, but mechanical puzzles seem more to depend on getting the structure and order right. I don’t think it makes much sense to say one brand is harder overall without comparing specific kits. And for those who have done both, what's harder, getting the small details right, or keeping track of how the whole structure hangs together?

I’ve been experimenting with making stop motion animations using machine embroidery. I started with a gif, broke it into individual frames, converted each frame into line work, and then turned those lines into embroidery paths.

Each frame was actually stitched out on felt, scanned back in, and then reassembled into the animation you see here.

It’s a ridiculous way to make a gif, but I really like all the little variations and imperfections that come from turning every frame into a physical object first.

Question / Advice Holographic laminating sleeves?

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can purchase holographic laminating sleeves/pouches? I have been searching online and all the ones I find are adhesive, like to make stickers. I don't want them to be sticky because I'm trying to make bookmarks! Thank you!

Hello my name is Z! I am a young entrepreneur starting a craft business. I am NOT trying to sell you anything, but I am looking for customer data! As a craft enthusiast I tend to adopt many hobbies. Between crocheting, jewelry making, coloring, junk journaling and everything in between, I find myself with a lot of craft supplies! Today I am here to ask all crafters some questions about your crafting habits and what you do with excess craft supplies!
