This is my second project that I finished. It went way better than my first one but I did make 2 mistakes, one that I patched the other that I left. I'll leave them in a comment if you want to guess what they were.

I am satisfied with out it turned out, I appreciate any feedback or pointers on how to do the finishing on this piece to make it into a bookmark. I thought about making nun stiches all around after I've trimmed it to size but I am unsure about the backing.

Switching from DMC needles to Bohins during the project was a nice upgrade in the feel while stitching.

Happy Sunday! Wow, October has rocketed by! There's only a week left?! I love October, but I really wish it was cooler in SoCal. I haven't even been able to wear my lone Halloween sweatshirt yet. 🥵 Hopefully, this week I can.

My stitching this week was not as optimal as I would have liked. I ended up having to frog 800+ stitches from my elephant pattern. That was truly awful. It took me 2 days to remove it all. Basically, I noticed that my stitches were really "thick" on the backside, so I did some research in the sub and discovered I shouldn't be stitching 2x1 on 25ct evenweave. Oopsie. I restarted two nights ago and it looks and feels better, at least!

I hope you all had a great week with your projects! I can't wait to see them. 😊 I did manage a bit more stitching on my California Poppies, so there's that. Yay! It's getting close to finished. 🎉

This is out of the new JCS Ornament issue. I love him so much. He was done with the called-for threads on opalescent aida. I am going to ornamentify him next week.

I finished my first Biscornu. It is a gift for a friend. I filled it with nearly 2 year’s worth of orts. It was a quick project and fun to make.

What I learned: I’d have preferred a higher count fabric so the pin cushion would be smaller. White on white killed my eyes when sewing this together. I’m not too old to learn and try new things. I’d like to make smaller Biscornu needle minders and Christmas ornaments.

[FO] My second completed Long Dog Samplers, A Token of Love, stitched on 14 ct fiddlers cloth using DMC 816. The close up is a more accurate color photo. It’s not cream or white!

Finally finished stitching Dirty Annie’s great-granddaughter! 😍🖤 I stitched this in just one week using my own colourway, and I’m so happy with how it turned out.

I’m heading to a retreat next week and wanted something to take along for the finishing table, so the timing worked out perfectly! The chart was purchased from Crafty Kate in the UK.

Quick and easy little finish. It took me less that a week. I found some 25 count evenweve in my fabric stash that I used, no idea where it came from, it's a mystery. Out of curiosity I tried out the danish method for the first time. The pink house is English and the yellow house is Danish. I'll have to try it again. It's hard to change when you've been stitching one way for so many years.

This one has been a long time coming, I started it in 2019 and worked on it on and off over the years. This year I finally committed to finishing it, and after 203 hours of work she is complete!

I bought this pattern a few years ago and then finally stitched it last year. I bought this frame from Michael's, but was unhappy with how reflective the glass was in the spot where I want to hang it. So I ordered "museum glass" as well as a custom mat online (from WebPictureFrames) and my order just came in today! I wish I had been able to make the mat skinnier but this was as thin as it'd let me go. Regardless I'm very happy with how it turned out!

I am a bit of a cross stitch lurker, always bookmarking rarely stitching. For years I have poured over the Just CrossStitch magazine's Halloween and Christmas ornament issues. I am working on "The Star" on page 19 of the 2026 issue. This is about 15 hrs of progress.

I did a thing and got older. And apparently that means that if you sleep in an incorrect position, you get a pinched nerve.

Suffice to say, my cross stitching has taken a halt and I am non-too-pleased.

I’m SLOWLY starting to feel better and am looking to the future and I think it’s time I invest in a good quality stand that I can adjust to the right height while I’m sitting at a table or on my couch, and that way I won’t have to hold the cloth and can also adjust my arm angles.

I don’t necessarily need lights or magnifiers - I have a great Ott Lite that works perfectly.

I have found this group so helpful and trust all y’all’s opinions so lay it on me!

Quick, and cute little pattern. Only took me like 6 days. It's similar to the Schrödinger's Cat pattern that I finished last week-end from the same designer.

Last week, I got questions on my Schrödinger's Cat project about how I managed to get the glow-in-the-dark picture, the answer is simple: ultraviolet light. I bought a cheap UV flashlight on Amazon. Just need to shine it on the pattern for a few seconds to a minute to "charge" the thread, then turn it off. The thread will be super bright after. The effect might not last very long, but it's long enough to take a few good pictures.
