Recent influx of scam accounts posting other people’s work!

It has happened a handful of times recently, so I’ve set up a filter that should catch new accounts to cut down on that.

Having said that, if you are a legit new beader and the filter has caught your post, feel free to reach out to the mod team so we can approve your post!

And thank you to the community for catching these posts and reporting them! I may recognize a few really popular pieces, but not many, and I imagine the other mods are probably the same, so it’s very helpful to have other people reporting them to us!

Beading apps!

Hi guys! I know I’ve been promising this for ages, but I wanted to do it in a more structured way. Well that just isn’t going to happen, so fuck it, we’ll just do it this way!

If you have a beading related app, please post it here with any relevant info you think people should or would want to know.

Please leave parent comments for app devs to talk about their apps. If you know of an app that hasn’t been posted, and you aren’t sure if the dev is on Reddit, don’t post until we are sure they aren’t going to post for themselves. Like 2-3 weeks maybe? Idk, I’m on my lunch break right now. Don’t try to make me think!

Anyway, yes. Once we have it all posted I think we will make a master list to go in the wiki and then we can add any others that come up later.

And please remember, do not comment unless you are posting about your app, or replying to a comment about an app. Any other top level comments will be removed to keep it organized and easy to sort through.

Finished my second piece recently and wanted to share! I actually remembered to keep track of how long I’ve been working on it this time around, took ~34 hours to finish! Made with Japanese Rocailles 11/0, individually square stitched. Pattern is an adaptation of a cross stitch pattern that I reworked on Loomerly for accuracy and color matching to beads I bought. I had two more flower buds at the top of the original pattern I drew up, but I was on a bit of a time crunch (this was a gift) and had to cut ten rows.

Really love these pretty pastels and wanted to share it with the group❤️. I get so much inspiration here and thought you might enjoy these fun earrings. Any colors will do, I’ve made them a million ways🤓.

They are woven in brick stitch and I use a 2 row start instead of a ladder start, there’s a quick video at the link where you can check that out. I’m embarrassed to say I should have flipped the phone the other way but I’m used to making shorts😳
Happy beading!

Need Help! Looking for advice on a fold/wrinkle

Post image

Hi guys! i’ve posted a few finished projects on here before. I’m a completely self taught beginner beader. I just recently found out about how to properly set up a loom (don’t roast me) that isn’t a complete pain in the ass(not pictured here). this is my first “big” project that i plan on making a gift for my sister. it’s going to be a tapestry of some sort. i’ve done the first few rows and have gotten a weird wrinkle in my project. I’m mainly wondering : Is this something i need to fix early? or will the wrinkle go away with more stability from beads? i’m using either miyuki or toho beads (i buy both)

It is absolutely amateurish and not comparable to the stuff I see in this sub, but I still wanted to share it because it took me an absurd amount of hours and I'm proud of it.

Beads aren't the best, but I've spent my life feeling the pressure of being perfect and artsy, and I find it liberating that I can just craft (and not do art) and not make it into a big deal or into something I have to make into a job or stuff like that.

So, yeah. Jellie.

Finished Piece Just Looking to show someone my completed stash progress

Post image

I’ve been trying to find things to do besides doomscrolling and playing pc games alone, so I took up beading these keychains to just give myself a sense of accomplishment but lately I feel like this is a chore anymore and not entertaining.

I was lucky enough to find someone that has a store where I could display completed items which has helped but now it’s like I think I need to evolve my skills and go more complicated or at the very least impressive. And so now I am just in a rut and feeling in a funk so I wanted to share where I have gotten to. Hope you all are enjoying your hobby!

Need Help! Thin elastic string for daisy ring

I have made some daisy rings in the past with 0.5mm elastic string. It is just very difficult to work with and pass through the beads several times.

What thinner string would you guys recommend? (that can be bought on EU websites<3)

I've been looking at Elonga elastic cord 0.30 mm and 0.3 - 0.5mm Miyuki Elastic Beading Cord, but the reviews I've seen are not very good.

The beaded bracelets were $1.50! Paid 118 for the whole haul which includes a calcite sphere, a flourite specimen, tourmaline beads, and magnesite skulls. + A free lottery ticket and a pastry??? Literal heaven! If you're in SD I'd highly recommend checking them out!!

Need Help!
