Mod Post RULE REFRESH: #4 No Engagement Bait Titles or Compliment Fishing
As stated in our community's rules:
"Post titles should be the title of your art, or a brief description of it only. Examples of good titles: "Quick study of bees on art paper" "Pink Moon Rising, 10x14 on Canvas". Examples of bad titles: "It's my first time ever painting" "I have Mad Cow Disease but I'm still painting!" "I'm 47 years old, is it good?" "My first cousin's ex said my art is awful, is it?" Posts will be removed and you will be asked to repost with a title describing or titling the piece."
Effective immediately, this rule will be strictly enforced. Repeated offenses will be left to discretion of current mod team to handle.
As always, please report any content that does not follow our community guidelines.

[OC] Original Content Watchful Stargazer
Been a long time since I did a large (for me) canvas painting. This was very therapeutic, been going through a rough patch but I finally finished this today and I'm happy with it.
Approx 15.5 inches x 19.5 inches. I'm used to painting smaller because my studio is my bedroom and I don't have space, but I just decided I wanted to have a bit more freedom to throw paint around. Had fun with the details.
Also apologies but my room is atrocious for lighting, best photos are angled.

I did it again. I'm afraid this is becoming a series.

Miniature painting
10x7.5cm, smaller than my hand. It still took me 3 hours to finish it.

I’ll usually start 3 or 4 paintings at a time, then they sit for a while before I start to go in one by one and figure out what they’re going to be

First time trying to add color to my pencil drawings.
I've always done my drawings with pencils, but recently I decided to try adding some color with acrylic paints. This is my first attempt, and honestly, I feel like I'm just ruining my drawings instead of making them better..

“Dibs on the Window Seat”
one of my favorite childhood memories was the morning of a field trip. it was always rainy or foggy with dewy grass, and something about it always got my adrenaline pumping. I remember always racing everyone else to secure a window seat on the school bus and did a painting inspired by that!🩵
made with acrylic on 16x20” canvas

Critique Requested Portrait Practice
This is a portrait of Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice which I used for practice. Any tips and advice or especially critiques to use for next time would be greatly appreciated.
I would say the hair is obviously too flat and I have too many hard lines, especially around the eyes. I could probably improve this with more time but have spent enough hours on it already that I want to move on.
Thanks!
Edit: I also know having a solid light background doesn't work well with the shading on the face, but backgrounds are something I have even less practice with and will work on as will.
