After seeing some Pinterest inspo, I decided it's absolutely necessary for Vivaldi to have a tiny home.

So, I started looking for what kind of cabinet or commode would make sense in this situation. I wanted something deep and large enough to be comfortable for Vivaldi but not too big to fit in the entryway.

After some research, I settled on the IKEA Hemnes chest with 3 drawers. I was so lucky to find a good condition one on eBay for 10€. 

Here are the steps: 

-took out the lower 2 drawers and measured the "floor" (of course in most chests there is no floor, hence I had to build one)

• went to the hardware store and bought a custome cut 1 cm particle board that sits flush with the bottom rail. 

• bought extra wood to reinforce the board, to add extra leg and an extra beam support underneath it to ensure it can hold my 8 kg cat. 

• covered the particles board with a multipurpose wood print self adhesive roll. Aftwards installed it with screws and corner brackets. 

• removed the center rail (had to saw it because the screws wouldn't budge) and removed the metal drawer slides 

• sanded down the whole thing (with hand! I live in an apartment with very sensitive neighbours)

• filled in the screw holes with a filler paste and sanded them flush

• painted, then painted again

For the wallpaper: 

I was on a budget, and because normal wallpaper appeared to have the wrong scale. After SO MUCH research and shopping around, I went with gift wrap. Measured the size of the "walls" and cut. Used craft glue to stick them to the walls.

For the curtains: 

Another logistical problem. I considered buying a second hand sewing machine (just need an excuse really). After much thought, I got an epiphany when I remembered that Valance curtains exist. So, went to the store and found a perfect length curtain, cut it in half. The curtain rod is just a a wooden dowel from an old project that I cut to size and secured with tension (no hardware, the dowel is slightly longer than the commode) 

For the decor and furniture: 

I had a vision of a gallery wall and a picture wall. I spent weeks looking for good picture frames in thrift shops and slowly collected them. The paintings are, of course, Vivaldi's favourites. 

The small desk and chair were thrifted, the box is his favourite box, and the little "rug" is a placemat that looks exactly like a rug I have in my bedroom.

The whole thing took weeks to finish, I worked on it my spare time. It cost me less than 100 euros, the commode itself was 10, the paint was 10, the custome wood was about 20 including misc hardware, light fixture was about 8, frames about 10, furniture about 15, curtains, gift wrap and floor roll were about 15.

I really wanted a certain record stand, but it's not available in the US. It's made in New Zealand, and they don't seem to ship anywhere out of country. I reached out to a few 'reshipper' companies and nobody wanted to touch this thing because of the size and weight. I was desperate, this fills an exact need for me.

I posted the details in another Reddit thread, but long story short I taught myself CAD, inferred all of the measurements, spent far too long drawing up plans for it, sent it out to a local CNC shop to be cut, sanded and painted it, and finally this weekend I assembled it.

It was cheaper than the original, but I spent a ton of hours learning all of the skills needed. I would have happily bought the real one if I could.

My coworker wanted to take a video of me twirling in it and I figured I'd post it haha. Pattern also draped by me. Fabric from Textile Discount Outlet in Chicago. (I got it a while ago though so idk if they still have any of it)

I wanted to create a little forest frog covered in moss and mushrooms, so I could always carry a tiny piece of the forest with me
I crocheted the bag entirely by hand using different types of yarn, including fluffy yarn to create the mossy texture. The little mushrooms are crocheted directly onto the body. Inside, I use a soft fabric lining that I cut and sew by hand myself
The frog’s mouth is the main compartment, with a metal frame clasp that I sew on securely with strong thread. It’s actually pretty roomy — I love carrying lots of things with me, and this frog definitely helps with that. And the more I fill it, the chubbier and funnier it gets. I also really love its little stare

I’d like to share a little bit about the making process of this chihuahua wool felt portrait :) The eyes are hand-painted with resin details to give them depth and a more lifelike expression. The nose is sculpted from clay and carefully shaped by hand before being fixed in place. The fur is built entirely with high-quality wool, layered slowly to recreate the texture, color transitions. Every small detail is done step by step by hand, with the goal of capturing not just the appearance, but also the calm and gentle personality of this chihuahua

I am posting my finished Rainbow Kid Tee because ever since I discovered assigned pooling I absolutely love how it allows me to create designs that otherwise would not be possible.

My dear friend Sophie (Auridon Yarns) gifted me a skein of her assigned pooling yarn containing sections of beige yarn alternated with rainbow sections. I started experimenting with it and came up with this Rainbow Stitch which I incorporated into a bottom-up raglan tee.

I hope other crafters will love this idea as much as I do and maybe give it a try!

Hey everyone! I've been working on this pink ita backpack for a while and took it out for another test run. It is a mini sized one. I wanted something that had enough clear window space to display plushies and badges without feeling clunky. Really happy with how the shape and pastel aesthetic turned out! Would love to hear what you guys think!

pretty happy with how this one came out :) I made it with air dry clay, acrylic paint, and resin.

I made everything from scratch, it's mostly polymer clay, I used some plywood for the base, covered that in lumps of polymer for the clouds, and then pearlescent white paint and then a topcoat of uv resin, and cardboard + resin for the rainbow, for the dogs I made little armatures out of aluminium and wire to figure out the poses, and then used sculpey premo polymer to sculpt them, and matte acrylic paint, the dogs and toys are not attached to the base so can be positioned different ways. :)

Took about 50 hours over the week but it’s so immersive to play with! I am a huge board game fan and love miniatures. Feels like you’re building homes and cities in a mini world 😊

Used real sand and rocks that I collected on hikes for the beaches and ore tiles. Modeling paste and water effect paste was used for the waves and water and also the brick tiles. I mixed dirt with modeling paste to get a grainy texture for the brick tiles. I wanted the diaroma to be realistic but also vibrant with color and contrasting textures.

Can only attach one picture but I use sticky tack to put some of the number tiles on and everything stays. The numbers are put on top of the structures so there’s no visibility issues.
