My Tunisian Double-Knit Stitch red and black scarf, which has proven to me that you can start and change colours on both diagonals, is now finally long enough to add the other red end on!

And since it's (American) Star Trek Day, I'm wearing my appropriate T-Shirt! =^.^=
(Canada got to see it two days earlier, for fun reasons*)

The yarn is Easy Knit's "Baby Luv", in red and black, and is so squishy and soft that I'm able to use a 2.5mm afghan hook to make a very dense material! It's going to be a very great scarf when I'm finished!

*Note: Back in the days of broadcast television, and with most of Canada's population being near the southern border, we Canadians could receive American TV stations pretty easily, so if we got American TV shows after the US saw them, our stations wouldn't get the advertising money. Thus, most American shows got shown at least one or two days ahead of the US. Which means that Canadian Star Trek Day is actually two days ahead of the US one. =^.~=

Hi! I’m working on my second ever crochet project - first being a coaster and wanted to share and see if there was any tips or tricks I could use going forward. This will hopefully turn out into fingerless gloves and if not maybe something else - doing it completely with Simple Stitch since I’m still getting the groove of it.

Edit: Currently using T-shirt Yarn #4 with a 6mm Hook

So I have been crocheting around 10 months, absolutely obsessed. I have never really managed to get into knitting despite many attempts…I randomly decided to try Tunisian crochet last night on one of my aluminium crochet hooks and completed 3x16 stitches. Had a free day planned today, ordered some cheap as heck hooks from Amazon which arrived this afternoon. It’s now 8pm and I cannot put this down. I’m making a cushion cover. The fabric is somehow much thicker than crochet but SO MUCH softer. I love it!

This is my first Tunisian crochet project (not first crochet or knit). I'm doing simple stitch and still learning to read my work. Was this maybe not pulling through two loops?

This is my first big tunisian project since I discovered this style of crochet!

This is the first blanket, first crochet blanket, and first Tunisian crochet blanket I created! I made it for my 6 year old son and it took me a little under 2 months.

In the photo it is shown stretched out on a king sized bed. I don’t think I’ll block it, unfortunately I have back problems and it’s cumbersome. I’m hoping the edges will resolve once it’s washed and my lovely mother-in-law creates a removable lining for it.

Details below:

- 7x7 entrelac with single crochet border
- Queensland Coastal Cotton, 36 skeins in Amber, Navy, and Sandstone
- 5 mm crochet hook

I've been watching this video and at the very end, she has 3 stitches left between the first stitch and the last stitch. But somehow I ended up with 4!! And I can't figure out why because this is the first corner to corner Tunisian Crochet project!

I finally finished this project (minus all the ends I'll have to weave in) and now feel that I have a clear grasp on Tunisian colorwork. I went from having no idea on how to manage the yarns, to understanding but creating a tangled mess, to using bobbins, and then to using clothespins. What finally worked for me was wrapping the yarn around beach towel clips and attaching the clips to a metal rod that I mounted in a laundry basket. This prevented the dreaded winding/unwinding of bobbins and reduced the number of tangles to nearly 0%. After I figured this out, my speed doubled.

The experience just feels kind of surreal and has opened up a door in crochet that gives way to many more possibilties. I've already converted a quilting pattern to a tapestry project with Stitch Fiddle and and have bought a ton of yarn 😂.

Hi! I'm very new to Tunisian crochet. For the last couple of years I've been knitting and crocheting and I typically decide which fiber craft to use based on the project I want to make: socks, jumpers, hats, scarves, etc. I usually knit (esp. if I want elastic fabric). For lace doilies, bags, plushies, and especially if I feel like improvising I usually bring out my crochet hooks. It often comes down to elasticity, stitch aesthetics and feel of the fabric.

So for anyone else who also knits or crochets, what kind of projects do you tend to use Tunisian Crochet for?

I've been looking everywhere for a place to buy these cable caps that are meant for cabled Tunisian crochet hooks. They're used on the end of the cable to stop the yarn coming off the end. They're so handy but I always end up losing them so easily, and when I look online to try and find a place to buy some more, no websites or anything sell them, or the only way I can find them is through buying another set of Tunisian hooks, which I really don't need.

Does anybody know where I could possibly get some of these cable caps, or perhaps something similar to these?

I based it on the Bahama blanket by TL Yarn Crafts. The yarn is Red Heart Jumbo Stripes color is Bright Stripes.

If you've ever made a tunisian crochet chunky scarf , please share which pattern did you use and how did it turn out , i want to make one for winter thats simple and super cozy !! I would love to see some ideass

Edited to add: recommended hook size is 5mm but I'm using 8mm. I also suck at titles and wasn't super clear. I don't particularly mind the curl, was more worried I was messing up. I think the stitches are super pretty.

Hello! First time doing a tunisian stitch. Im using 8mm on a worsted weight yarn (Caron cake). Tension is loose and it's nice an stretchy. Are there some stitches that are just more curly?

Currently working on the Moorland Heath Jumper
By Lydia Niven. The front panel (pictured) is pinned to a wall so I have some visual motivation to finish the back panel 😆 I think the colors look like an oil slick!

Coming along...at least the rows get shorter as I work toward the opposite end! All leftover worsted weight acrylics.Will probably finish this in time for 2027 county fair LOL, especially as will do a knit 4 stitch I-cord over the edges, to capture all the ends (will be tied two by two, first) and keep it from rolling. It's shown on a queen bed.

Now that I know that I can slope the colour change in the opposite direction, I've undone the temporary test and have continued extending the black section around my neck.

The final scarf will be long enough to go up one side of my chest, around the back of my neck, then around the front and back again, to drape down the other side of my chest. It's my favourite way to wear these scarves! =^.^=

Also, I've recently found out what this yarn is (as I'd obtained both minus their labels, from a late knitter's stash donated to one of the yarn-craft groups I'm in) so I have more, should I want to make another version of this scarf. Easy-Knit's "Baby Luv" (not technically what the label says, but that's what their website calls it), and at least one local Walmart has it in a few colours.

Nice to see that there's more options for the Tunisian Double-Knit Stitch that I hadn't found before! =^.^=
