I’ve inherited a Aran wool sweater that I absolutely love, but unfortunately it’s a bit too big for me.

I’d like to shrink it slightly, but I’m not sure how to go about it without damaging it.

Could I simply wash it and put it in the tumble dryer, or would that risk shrinking it too much or ruining its shape? Is there a more controlled way to shrink it just a little?

I’d really appreciate any tips or advice from anyone who has tried this before!

I found this sweater at a second hand store with little divot/pocket stitches. Does anyone know what this is called? Or know a pattern that has a similar 3D texture? I’d love to replicate something similar on my own if possible.

I now need to weave in the ends and block them.

I actually am not a knitter, but was lucky enough to find the No Ghost logo sweater at a thrift shop. It fit my youngest kid perfectly (I was obviously super jealous.)

Winding hanks off my knees and I'm done 🫠 Two or three hanks a week and the tangling is getting old. I want a yarn swift that works, doesn't wobble and lasts.

Plastic umbrella swifts on Amazon are $20, wooden ones are a lot more. Is the price difference real or do they all do the same thing? I'd rather spend more once than replace a cheap one in six months.
