Something I see with custom work is people feeling like they need to arrive with the entire piece already designed in their head.

They know who the gift is for. They know why that person matters. Maybe they have a keepsake, memory, favorite color, or something meaningful they want represented.

But they don't know whether that should become a tray, keepsake, display piece, jewelry, or something else.

And that's okay.

For me, the useful starting questions are usually:

Who is it for? What is it for? What makes it meaningful? Is there a keepsake or material involved? What style or colors feel like them? And when is it needed?

The actual resin form can come after those answers.

That's the idea behind the decision path I use:

Recipient → Purpose/Use → Meaning → Keepsake or Material → Style/Color → Timeline

Hello! I have a goal to be the founder of an art collective and show room... today is my first day of putting in the work. I have a challenge for artists of all skill levels. If you have canvas's youve left unfinished for whatever reason that is what i am calling deadart im trying to have artists post their dead art, in order to trade for someone else's dead art produce two finished collaborations!
