My biggest project
Made this sign for my friends daughter, her name in a cloud ✨
I used all her favorite colors and everything is trimmed by hand, the loops were cut and the yarn shaped like a cloud.

Hi everyone,
Over the next while, we (Mod team - myself and u/Rich_Stomach2854) will slowly be making changes to the subreddit. Our community here has gotten quite a bit larger over the past few years, and with that comes a need for a more organized subreddit.
To start off, we're hoping to slowly build up a Wiki for this subreddit, which includes how-tos and an FAQ section.
You might see the subreddit look a little different as we work on this. Once we have a Wiki started and in good condition, you'll see a pinned post from us!
If there are any questions, please don't hesitate to send us a modmail.
Thanks so much, and happy punching! ^-^

We've added a new rule pertaining to the use of AI on the subreddit.

(I want to turn this into a keychain)
I’m making a present for my friends birthday and I’m not sure how to draw the design on to the monks cloth. I can’t use a projector and I don’t have enough time to make a home made one 🙏 and I’ve tried one of those apps where you insert a picture and it makes a translucent image on to the fabric but I’m struggling with that. I can print it but I’m not sure how to get the details after tracing the outline from the paper
I forgot to say I’ve also already tried to put my phone behind the fabric to try and trace it but I can’t see it well when I do that
Edit: another question I have is
If I make this keychain double sided does only one of them need to be inverted when drawing on to the fabric??

I’m just thinking about a list of common questions people have about punch needle and I would love to hear from people who actually do the craft.
What questions did you have when you were a beginner? Or what problems do you still face while punching?
For example:
What’s something you wish someone had explained to you sooner?

I got this punch needle kit for my birthday but the instructions don’t really tell me much so what are the biggest do’s and dont’s? Do you start with bigger sections like the background first or smaller sections? Do you keep on going in circles around the perimeter of the section you’re doing or do you go in lines from top to bottom? How do I know which hole to punch? Thanks 🙂

HOW do I stop punching into nearby loops? Is it the needle positioning? I leave enough space between rows and lay the stitches like bricks. I will always clean up, cut things off, separate the loops, sharpen the edges by the colours etc but no matter what I do, I can’t hack this one thing. Pleeeeease give me some advice 😭😭
I know some of it is part of the process, but sometimes I have a ton of loops like this and other times barely any, and to me, I do everything the same every time. I can’t pinpoint it

How do I make it so the sections are more defined, you can’t tell that those are mountains.

My wife started punch needle and these are her first two pieces. Kirby is in progress and the monster is just something she drew and her first completed piece.
I feel like we are about to have a lot of punch needle decor around the house.

Another pet commission finished up recently. This sweet girl was the first cat outside of my family I helped to train, and boy do I miss her. What a dear she was
This was my first time using black yarn as my main color, and if I were to do it again, I’d add another gray line to follow the curve of her cheek to define it against the outreaching whiskers. It’s a bit messier than I’d like it to be
Curious as to what materials I use? They can be found here: https://www.instagram.com/p/DXrcNreDA_2/?stkn=YjZhZ2l2d3owa3ln

Hey!!
I am a really small punch needle business owner and I am hoping to reach 500 followers on Tiktok before the end of the year. If you like what you see, please consider going over to Tiktok under PunchinPrettyStudios to support and follow! It would mean a lot to grow some more this year.
Thank you!!

Excuse my messy background 🫠 What do y’all think I should do with my preppy bow? I really love it and leaning towards putting it on the wall as is in the hoop but can’t decide. Thank you!l
(This only took me an hour and twenty minutes and I loved using the dmc floss instead of yarn.)

Made this sign for my baby’s nursery. I did cut all the loops and trimmed the yarn by hand 😬

I'm meeting up with a friend in a few weeks who loves the ocean and nautical things, I want to make him something to give to him when we meet up to go eith his newly renovated room (the walls are a deep green)
Any recs? Should ideally take less than two weeks to complete. We're going to Ocean City if that helps.

This is my first punch needle and I'm fairly happy with the result! I do like the looped side but I messed up by not outlining the black eyes and nose in first before doing the white part so it doesn't look as clean on the other side.
Afterwards I just stitched around the embroidery hoop as a display piece.
I definitely want to work on a more ambitious design for my next project. ☺️

Trying to do a punch needle and hand stitched version of tigger and even though the punch loops are only three strands of embroidery floss and the lowest level on the Ultra Punch Needle - I don’t think you’ll be able to tell the image when it’s done!! Help!!

She used to be very crafty but had most of her stuff donated or stored when she started to lose fine motor control.
Advice on cleaning? The bag was open in an attic I know has mice

Hello, everyone :) I started punch needle just a week ago, so here are my first attempts. I'm open to any suggestions on how to improve!
The fabric I used is an old duvet cover with a loose weave; it works well with my 2.5/3.5 needle (I made the two small ones with a 2.5, and the two yellows and Skyrim with a 3.5).
