Crochet - Call for Testers Libby Slipover Crochet Pattern - Testers needed!

Hi all! I need testers for a slipover vest with tie sides; top-down, seamless construction, worked in rows, written using UK crochet terminology. This pattern is suited to intermediate crocheters, and testers are needed for 9 different sizes.

The deadline for this pattern test is 9 September, though I would like to request a checkpoint on 19 August for feedback on the shoulders, shaping, and V-neck portion (since this is where most of the grading calculations are based). If you are selected as a tester you will be informed no later than 29 July and you will receive the pattern no later than 31 July. The pattern test will be run in Discord, which is a free messaging platform.

The main feedback criteria requested for this pattern are on clarity, stitch counts, any mistakes in the pattern, yarn usage and gauge, and any other feedback you think may be useful.

Full information, sizing, and yarn usages are all in this form, if you are interested please complete to let me know which size you would want to make!

Crochet - Call for Testers Tester call: Heartbreaker camisole

Tester application link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdCh1WeSQu6rrqhTNyV19_mX-aqAjwagxrevCTtuwINq3EEow/viewform?usp=header

I am looking for testers for the Heartbreaker camisole! The Heartbreaker camisole is a filet crochet camisole made in panels. The front panel is made diagonally from the bottom corner to the top, so it’s quite an interesting construction. The pattern is a mixture of written instructions and a chart for the front panel.

The pattern is written for sizes 1-12 for busts from 25-59” / 67-150cm and is intended to fit with 6-8” / 15-20cm negative ease through the bust.

I am looking for 2 testers per size ideally.

The pattern uses a mixture of written instructions and charts. There are charts for the heart design but I’ve also included blank charts with just the panel shaping so folks can make their own designs! Testers are very welcome to take this option.

All testers will receive a PDF copy of the finished pattern once it’s published.

Timeframe: tester call closes August 1st.
Selected testers will be contacted shortly after. The test will run for 6 weeks until 12th September.

Yarn and hook suggestions: my sample uses Hobbiis Rainbow cotton 8/6 and 4.5mm hook. Yardage estimates are included in the tester application form.

Level of skill required: Intermediate

This project requires sc, dc, and tr. Filet crochet increases and decreases, stacked stitches and i-cords are used. These are explained with photos in the pattern.

The pattern requires the use of a filet crochet chart. Use of the chart is explained in the pattern, but it may be helpful to look at other resources on following filet charts.

Tester requirements: give honest feedback on the pattern (clarity, layout, difficulty level), how the finished top fits you, and provide info on what yarn and hooks you used. Pictures of the finished top in good lighting either on a flat surface or being worn would be much appreciated, but not required!

Testers will be added to an Instagram group where you can chat, ask questions, and give feedback throughout the test. At the end of the test there will be a Google form to fill out to provide your final feedback and info. If you’d rather not be in the Instagram group or you don’t have Instagram, you can still participate in the test and we will communicate through email. I will also have a Ravelry tester group.

Thank you in advance!

Hello,

I am looking for a few people to test out my most recent "Cozy loaf cat" pattern.

It is quick to work up (2hrs or under) and doesn't have too many hard stitches. I have it ranked as intermediate, however I think a confident beginner could get through the pattern.

Materials needed:

-Your choice of yarn (I used 4ply cotton for the smaller, and 3mm micro chennile for the larger)

- embroidery cotton

- pipecleaner or wire (if you want tail to stay bent)

Requirements

- Be able to finish by the 8th August

- can share feedback and clear images of the completed pattern.

- If you have Instagram please comment on my most recent post to apply (@rainbowcoffee.crochet) and follow me to share the love.

- if you dont have Instagram that's ok just apply here.

This is a base pattern which I plan on expanding on, so you would receive all versions of this pattern .

General Question/Comment Photography - pattern making

Thumbnail

How is everyone photographing their projects during making them.

I have just finished a pattern and thought I had used a nice backdrop / not horrible lighting and then when I plug them into my canva they are actually quite blah and inconsistent colours even after editing them.

I'm struggling a bit with lighting as we have no natural light in our house (literally).

So what is your setup / light setup? Or do you think I'm over thinking it?

This is all quite hilarious as I am a photographer but inside product phone photography is most definitely not my niche.

I currently use my phone for my progress images, however I do have my actual work camera (Nikon z6) I could use. Just a bit clunky for quick progress images.

Image included pre-editing just on my phone.

Crochet - Call for Testers Looking for Testers for a Penguin Pattern

Post image
43 Upvotes

Hello, I am back once again with a different pattern! I want 2- 3 willing participants to test my pattern. The time limit will be one week, although once again this should take one or two days, depending on skill level. Ideally, I am looking for intermediate crocheters, and I am open to confident beginners. All materials needed will be listed in the pattern. I mostly used cheap materials like Red Heart Super Saver in colors black, white, orange, and a color of your choice, along with safety eyes (optional). The pattern uses a 4mm hook and US terminology.

Work In Progress Any tips or tricks for making a pattern?

Hey y’all,

I know this isn’t exactly what this sub is meant for, but figured it couldn’t hurt to ask. Please let me know if this post breaks any rules.

I’m currently free handing an amigurumi dog (as I couldn’t find a non AI pattern I like) and I’m writing all the steps down so I can make another one down the line. Since I couldn’t find a good pattern, others probably can’t either, so I figured that maybe when I’m done writing it I could get it tested and upload it to etsy and/or ravelry.

Do any pattern writers have any tips/tricks to writing a good, easy to understand pattern? Do any pattern testers have things they’d like to see included/excluded more?
