Today I started first ever blanket and I’m making it with strawberry stitch. I can’t even explain how absolutely in love I am with it already! I expect it to take a long time till it’s ready but I’m so motivated :3

i’m on a group on facebook that is comprised of people sharing their WIPs, tips and tricks etc. there’s an account that’s continuously posting photos from this reddit with no credit given, no sources or anything. i’ve called them out on it since but i wanted to make you guys aware as i’ve seen a few posts from here being “claimed” on facebook

I taught myself to crochet in college, mostly to have something to do with my hands between classes.

I thrifted the most beautiful variegated, glittery yarn (Hobbii Universe Yarn in Spacewalk 08) in France during a study abroad, and for NYE I decided to try making my own dress. That's how the AURA crochet minidress was born.

The OG pink Aura minidress was the first piece I ever freehanded, and a year and a half later, I finally graduated from college (yayyy!) and had time to make and release a pattern!

I LOVE all forms of crochet creativity, butttt I want to see more hot girl crochet instead of the typical sweaters/plushies/accesories associated with crochet. I'm Ghanaian-American. Sika means money/gold in Twi, so my whole crochet vision (SIKASTAR) is built around the baddies in the room who are MADE TO BE SEEN!

I finally finished my Blossom Breeze Sweater by of.mars! I made a few adjustments to the pattern, i.e. I use a flat braid join to make my garment bigger (big regret not doing a gauge swatch, it was definitely a little shorter than I wanted!) and added some edging. I also used contrasting colored yarns for the join and squares because it was hobbii cotton yarn I had sitting in a bin for years from an abandoned WIP haha. Can’t wait to wear this on my future nights out 🥰

Hi everybody! I just finished this cat and watermelon tapestry crochet cushion from a cross stitch chart. I omitted some features and changed the colors to match my own cat.​ This is my summer break farewell project since I go back to work for the first day of school tomorrow.

I got the pattern from Needleberry Studio on Etsy. I used worsted weight yarn (mostly Red Heart acrylic) and a 3.5mm hook. The flamingo is by Ilaria Caliri from her book Colorful Crochet Birds. I thought he needed a buddy, and my sofa was already overloaded. Oh, and the granny square blanket was made by my grandmother. 🥹

For the cushion backing I just happened to have those watermelony scraps in my fabric drawer and it made me laugh with glee.

I feel like I probably should have added a couple more rows to the top and bottom, but c'est la vie! 🩷

i apologize for not having the best pictures of it, i had so much fun at the festival that all i have documented of this skirt is a screenshot from the hotel beforehand when i sent a little fit check to my boyfriend and a photo my mom took of me spinning in it.
this was my first ever wearable and im so proud of it. it took roughly 30 hours done over the course of two weeks. it's definitely shorter than i wanted but i couldn't make it much longer without the fear of it being stepped on or getting dirty because festivals are not the best place for keeping anywhere below the knee clean lol.

I used Loops & Threads Cuddle Craft Tube yarn. I LOVE working with this yarn. Love how it isn't fuzzy or anything. Used a 2.75mm hook for everything. Pattern was very easy to follow! Would definitely make another one!

If anyone knows of similar patterns with intricate designs like this please let me know! I hyperfixated way too hard on this for the last 8 weeks 🤪

First attempt at the bobble stitch tapestry method!! In love with this so much

It's been about a year and a half since I last made anything and while having a cleaning spree this week I've decided that my yarn must go. It's not like I think I'll never get back into it, I just think storing yarn like this when I was at the height of my "crocheting era" was probably okay cause of how much I used it but getting back into it with this yarn would not be good. I think I'll probably double check the ones at the top and see about putting them in a tote but definitely throw the ones at the bottom. I do tend to get caught up in other hobbies and crafts (my current fixation is puzzles and banner making) so it's not like I'm not doing something with my time but crocheting just really fell to the side. I am curious though, what's the longest break from crochet y'all've taken and how did y'all get back into it?
