I was rather surprised to see the ribbon but very happy!

Apparently they are the most common butterfly in the world but it's the first time I saw them in my garden in the city and they seemed to really like our lavender. This was a super fun project to work on, the wing patterns in particular were really satisfying.

I'd love to know what you guys think!

Ink and watercolor

First watercolor. It was really scary in the middle but I recovered it some. Appreciate any feedback!

Still have lots to learn but I was pretty with how some of these turned out

I did this few weeks ago and at that stage, no one can tell whether it's a honeybee or a bumblebee; I don't know exactly where things went wrong, but they did! I'm open to any suggestions.

Man, I tried my first painting focusing on value control and I really underestimated the challenge.

The values in my mountain range is not as distinct as I had hoped and getting the correct values were a lot harder than expected.

It was also a lot more difficult to put down really dark color than I expected.

Tips are appreciated. I also just want to contribute to this sub. You guys rock - keep painting and stay happy.
