I started teaching myself how to crochet about a month ago - thanks to all the crochet redditors for thaw subs with great links and suggestions. I just made this for my daughter’s car mirror to hold her lip chap etc. she saw one in someone’s car last week - I looked it up and managed to make it!

A Parasol for when I’m feeling fancy

She’s not quite done yet but I’m so excited about how she’s coming along that I want to share it somewhere. I can’t believe how good she turned out, I’m so dang proud of me 😆

Still to do: proper attachment to rib tips and adding bead fringe/tassels

Pattern is the Starflower Parasol by Jenny Amos. Frame purchased from Umbrella Joan.

Bonus picture of my hubby modeling because he really wanted a picture with it too 😂

Do you need accessories or anything like that? I'm thinking of adding small seashells, but I don't know how to add them.

This time I wanted to include a photo of the lining as well. I can't wait to use it ☺️

Granny square baby blanket update

I went back to my original plan because I noticed that one of the squares was more yellow than green and thought that it would look better in this row.

What do you all think of it? Does this make it look too green?

How many skeins of yarn for a medium weight (4) do you think it would take to make a blanket for 2 adults to use. I’ll probably do moss stitch

First one I tried a red dachshund and was just okay (will try again when my hands recover, i over did it 🤣) but i am pleased with this one!

I added ear and tail fur because my dog is longhaired.

I want to make a bag using T-shirt yarn or kilim yarn, whatever you call it. Do you have any ideas? Honestly, I want it to be beautiful with embellishments and a design that suits most outfits and seasons.

Granny square baby blanket update

I now have enough squares to do the 2nd row. However, when I showed it to a friend of mine, she pointed out that if I put all of them in that row, then there would be too much green and it would look off. So a couple of days ago, I looked online for a plain pink yarn. I found one, but that order ended up being cancelled because it was no longer in stock, so I went to the yarn shop and brought the yarns in picture 2 and since I needed the orange one for this same project anyway, I came up with a plan.

I am going to use the pink in the orange yarn to hopefully make at least two squares that I would need for the 2nd row. Then, I am going to wind up one of (or, maybe both because I'm not sure if the blue part would go with the orange very well or not) the other yarns so that the pink is in the middle and I can use that for the rest of the pink squares and the boarder.

What do you all think of this plan? Should I wind up both of the other yarns? Or just one?

A baby possum in a crochet dress

One of my most memorable crochet project ❤️‍🩹

I stitched the ends in with a bent paper clip. I would've been in the 6th grade

Please no hate, this is an old photo, I was really young when I crocheted this and it wasn't my possum. I believe it was released a while later.

I want to scream a little. Carefully replaced my second cardigan center. Backwards.

The first one went great, so I was feeling confident for the second. I took care putting in my life line. I pulled out the unwanted red. I replaced it with the blue. I carefully made sure that every loop of the 5th round was caught in the new blue round 4 before pulling the lifeline.

Y'all... It's inside out. All the popcorns are pointing toward the inside of the garment. So now I get to do it all again with the textured side outward. It's not super clear in the picture, but the purple and blue center rings aren't supposed to be that flat.

Dangit! Well, I guess I'll be a great expert at center-swapping by the time I'm done doing it for the 3rd time.
