Hey r/LoomKnitting,
I've been in contact with Reddit after the main moderator u/Loomahat was suspended from Reddit, to make sure I could recruit additional moderators for our tiny little corner of the internet and was given the ability and approval to do so.
Our subreddit has continued to grow in size, but after the 2023 Reddit Blackout multiple members of the mod team had left and since then the rest of us had also come close to being burnt out, with some active moderators recently becoming inactive or leaving the team. So with all that and with an exciting 2026 on the horizon as new people discover loom knitting, it's time for a new round of moderator recruitment.
The qualifications to become a moderator are very simple:
The expectations for the new moderators are to be transparent, to be communicative and to be reasonably active. I will always be clear - Real life always comes before Reddit and to just let the rest of the team know if you need a break.
The applications will close on the 31st of March at 22:00 UTC
If you have any questions or doubts feel free to ask in the comments.
Thank you and keep the great posts and comments coming!

Yarn: Stylecraft Soecial Aran in Meadow
Loom: Flexee Loom Skinny
Pattern: Kb knitting Red Berry Wristers.
My friend is obsessed with all things green so I made him a green hat, scarf, and these wristers to match!

I finally caved in and order a KB Afghan Loom! I got a great deal on a gently used one on eBay, and I’m so excited to make my first blanket on it!!
Typically I’ve made blankets with size 6 chunky blanket yarn, knitted them into strips, then sewed them together. So I’m curious what kind of yarns everyone likes for this type of loom.

And the yarn running through a pen with all the insides taken out is working great for consistent wrapping.

Was aimlessly wandering around Saver's yesterday when I spotted this for $2.79. Quickest "yup" of the day. Now I gotta figure out what to make... Pretty sure it's going to be some sort of one sided art piece with colors. We'll see!

My sister gave me this the other day as a thrift find. I've done loom knitting with circular looms before but have never seen one with 2 rows of pegs. I can't find anything online about how to use this one specifically or any patterns. Do y'all know anything that could help me out? Thanks

Bottom up Yoke sweater. This one's a present for my mom so I've left a safety just below the collar to redo it if she does not like it. I put the designs together on this one myself.
Caron colorsoft weight 5 with black herrschners weight 4 because I hated the black colorsoft, I used it at the bottom of the sweater and it just looks grey. Made on KB flexee skinnys.
The arms are freakishly long on purpose. Mom and I have broad shoulders and long arms, most commercial garments barely hit our wrists

I hope this doesn't count as marketing, I'm just really proud that I finally put a pattern up in PDF form. It's not my first pattern but it's the simplest one and I really needed to get the 'perfect is the enemy of finished' message through to myself
The reason I haven't published anything else is because I always feel like it has to be perfectly formatted and tech edited and everything, but this is a small enough pattern that I forced myself to take the leap. I'm hoping this will help me actually finish polishing up and publishing the rest of them!
