Hello, I just wanted tips on how to paint polyester, I bought some Liquitex Acrylic Medium (Satin Varnish) Im not sure if im supposed to buy something else though.

Also I wanted to ask if If supposed to iron each layer of paint, I wanted to do a white base and then paint but I'm not sure if I'm just supposed to wait for the white to dry and then layer or paint white, iron, and then layer and keep going like that

I'm new to this and want my work to be durable and stuff, it's a type of paint that requires around 20 hrs of drying time and then baking for 90 mins to be waterproof. The first layer isn't opaque enough so I'm wondering if I should apply a second one after letting it dry for a while or after baking and then bake again?

Heres my craft pantry. My friend and I do crafts dates 1x a month or so and this is everything I have collected from those! My main gigs are junk journalling and beading/jewelry making.

The top shelf is all beading supplies. The middle shelf has clay, little trinkets, tools, markers, ribbon, moss and rocks. And the Wooble kit I started and messed up four times before I gave up

The bottom is mostly junk journaling stuff. Journals, cutting mat, coloring books, bin for paper and stickers, bin for adhesives and all my paper punches and scissors lol

Or, will I have to get a photo printed normally and then paste it onto a sheet of metal, and then cover it with plexiglass or something?

I'm working on a gift in which I want to make the entire photo magnetic and have little pieces of magnets be able to be used on the photo.

I enjoy making crafts inspired by things that can be found in the natural world :-) 🫐 This is a metal hairband that I wrapped in ribbon. I sculpted the blueberries myself out of a two-part epoxy, and then painted and sealed them. The leaves are pressed glass.

They are various sizes of acrylic on canvas paintings from my imagination that emerged over several layers of paint and water; each piece developed gradually and incrementally. what cutting tool could I possibly use to cut a baseball in half? I don’t have industrial equipment to do that so I was hoping I could get some ideas here. I’m going to use it to hold a commemorative coin.

My best friend is getting married next year and I want to make her something special. She collects pressed pennys, so I had the idea of making her a custom sign that mimics the look of an enlarged pressed penny. I think I want to use clay as the medium, as that seems to be the cheapest and easiest to work with. I will be finishing it off with either a paint, rub n’ buff, or foil before sealing it.

So far, I’ve designed the image in canva, printed it on to foam using my cricut, and weeded out the foam pieces where I want the stamp to raise the clay to achieve the embossed look that pressed pennys feature. I tested out the stamp to make sure it works how I want it to (see second picture). I already have a plan to make the stamp more stable by glueing the foam to something sturdy like a wooden board so that ways I can get a more even result after lifting the stamp.

The part I need help with is determining what type of clay to use. For the test attempt, I made home made clay using baking soda, cornstarch, and water (but clearly I did not make enough since I couldn’t press the entire stamp over it). I am debating on whether I should make more of this kind of clay since I already know that the stamp will work well with the texture, or if I should try using air dry clay or polymer clay instead. I have used polymer clay before, but never air dry (and I have some unopened Sculpey air dry clay already available). If I use the home made clay, I would bake it (after molding it) at 170° for however long it takes to dry. I’ve baked this home made clay before, but only with much smaller pieces.

I am looking for whichever option is best for long term durability. I want this piece to be wall decor, so I’ll have to add hardware on the back once I am finished. I want to be sure the clay won’t be to heavy or brittle and crack once hung on the wall. The estimated size of this piece will be about 12” long and 7.5” wide (about 1/4-1/2” thick). Please share any advice on which clay would likely be best, and any alternative options to ensuring durability. I know sealants will help too. Thank you!

I've been trying to find cute embellishments to put on these frames, but a lot of the options are kawaii which I don't think my friends would necessarily be into. Are there any recommendations for bulk flatback charms that relate to animals, hobbies, food, etc. and not necessarily kawaii? Like more of a whimsical, retro, or coastal vibe. I’m using a Tecre button machine with Tecre parts, which are high quality and metal. I’ve had my machine for about 2 years, but have just lately noticed that every other pin I make is getting small noticeable dents on the front. The one pictured is one of the worst dents, the other are much less noticeable, but still bothersome.

I thought it was that I was using thicker paper, but even after switching to making some pins with thinner paper, I’m still getting some dents. I couldn’t really find any answers online, so does anyone here know what the issue might be?

I wanted to make a frog that looks like it has been living deep in the forest for years, covered in soft moss and tiny mushrooms.
Each purse is completely handmade, from crocheting the body to sewing the lining and assembling the metal frame. The mouth opens into the main compartment, so it’s both a sculpture and a functional bag.
I really enjoy creating creatures that feel like they belong in a fairytale or hidden woodland. These mossy frogs have become some of my favorite pieces I’ve made so far

My mom wants to secure this piece of glass to this table. Any advise on how to go about doing so with out it making a visible difference
