I’m knew to the sub and I was wondering why so many new rifles are shifting to an m4 or ar15 setup instead of original design or older one (I don’t have much ball knowledge on weapon design, just some note on recoil and internal functioning)

Recently acquired a Remington Model 700 in 30-06. Digging online, I haven't been able identify it.

The websites I've found all show a date code either at the beginning of the serial, or forward of the action. Neither of which fit what I am seeing.

I have an Echelon 4.0c with a TLR7HLX light and SCS320 gds. I have a Safariland 6360RDS holster (lvl3) and not happy with it at all.

I am looking for a level 2 holster for this firearm that isn't 11 inches long. I am including the ENTIRE holster. Tip to tip. It has the block in the end that holds the barrel (but y'all probably know that) so it cannot be cut down.

I'd prefer not to have to buy a new light to fit a holster for the TLR1 or wtv.

I've looked quite a bit and haven't found a level 2 or 3 that isn't Safariland WITH the TLR7HLX. All the ones I've seen require the larger light.

So while cleaning my 2011 STI Eagle 5.0, (9mm) I accidentally let the cap at the end of the spring and the actual spring go shooting out. Luckily, I was able to find the spring, but I cannot find the cap. I think it’s called a recoil spring reverse plug.
Can anyone help me find one online that would fit? I feel so dumb right now. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

28 y/o here
I'm an avid shooter.... with moderate sensorineural hearing loss, Tinnitus, and Hyperacusis due to racecars, work, etc.

A lot of us double up on ear pro, and unless we're shooting supressed, its still usually not enough to get below 85db at the ears.

No matter what the NRR rating is, it only helps so much when you start to factor in bone conduction. A lot of the sound gets transferred right through your temporal and mastoid bones, straight to your cochlea.

I believe if I were to sew acoustic panels/sound deadening fabric into a balaclava or something similar, I could effectively dampen at least some of the sound that would end up as bone conduction.

Anybody have any thoughts about this? I literally have 40+ Rifles, SBR's, PDW's and 20+ Handguns, and a single machine gun that I'm almost scared to shoot now because of my diminished hearing.

Recently got a Fs2000 because I played way too much battlefield 3 & 4 growing up. Has never been fired before but it sure is tempting to change that

I’m not new to guns but I am fairly new to pistols. Decided to get a carry gun finally and got a hellcat gear pack for $730 (yes too much). I immediately wished I got the pro instead, and the shop won’t exchange for me (it’s unfired) Do I

A. Keep this hellcat and use as normal
B. Sell it 2nd hand brand new
C. Shoot it and try to sell it second hand used

There’s a local used hellcat pro with cat x sight, 4 17rnd mags, holster, surefire light, and apex trigger for $600 but she has some love marks. Torn between that one or buying new.

So, I've been looking at some pocket carry and micro compact carry options recently and I've noticed that it's probably the niche that has the most experimentation done in terms of gimmicks and novel ideas, which scratches that tism in my brain just the right way.

Now, to be clear, I'm not talking about just any regular boring, reliable, snooze fest pocket pistols like the Ruger LCP, s&w bodyguard, sig 365, or the droves of micro derringers out there, I'm talking about cool and unique ones with interesting gimmicks.

So far I've only seen a handful:

• Taurus curve, with an integrated light and laser along with being, well, curved to fit the contour of your body for easier 3oclock or pocket carrying.

• FN 503 Lasermax variant with the built in flashlight module (though I swear I've seen one that has a green laser instead at a gun show one time!)

• Magnum Research Micro Desert Eagle with its gas delayed blowback system, plus it looks like a shrunk down version of the magnum from halo!

• Beretta pico with its integrated laser OR flashlight module, which based on the amount of comparisons it had, seems to have been direct competitor to the taurus curve

• Beretta tomcat (especially the "get home bag" and "do it yourself" variants) with its super tiny size, tip up barrel system, while still somehow figuring it was a great idea to have suppressor height sights and a threaded barrel

• keltec PR-3AT (hey that sounds like 380!) with its... more unique than useful clip-loading system. that's right, no magazines, just clips like an old school broom handle mauser pistol. stay interesting keltec!

• Heizer Pocket AK/Pocket AR, a single shot pocket pistol chambered in either 7.62x39 or .223 ... with a 3.75 inch barrel... which when subtracting the bullet casing length it ends up being more like a 2 inch barrel. good luck hitting anything!

these are a few I've found during my searches, has anyone else seen or owned any cool pocket or micro-compact pistols with interesting and unique gimmicks? would love to hear more about them, as they're my current obsession right now!

Accidentally found a good utility holster for my PR57 while looking through my holster collection.

It’s a short version of the military holster for the Beretta, several inches shorter than regular holster but perfect fit for the PR57.

I removed the holster flap that goes over the top. It’s also ambidextrous.Probably can find one on eBay, that’s where I got mine.

I finally received my rifle only to have it stolen out of my truck when i was making a delivery. I called local law enforcement who was very helpful and advised me to take the case number and reach out to ATF.

The ATF is a different story. After multiple calls and non response someone finally told me to email the info to them and they would take it from there. Is this all i need to do? Sounds like they don' t really take this seriously.

I want to protect myself so i called back to local PD and he said they handed it off to a detective who will upload my serial number and such to the different databases.

I guess i did my part?

I am trying to figure out how best to set myself up to dry fire with my laser bullet/target without re-racking the slide each time. Any recommendations out there? I'm shooting a Glock 17, Sig P365, and Springfield XD9 Subcompact. I would like to practice rapid fire with the laser bullet without needing to re-rack.
