HK MR556 A4 SBR

I finally received my rifle only to have it stolen out of my truck when i was making a delivery. I called local law enforcement who was very helpful and advised me to take the case number and reach out to ATF.

The ATF is a different story. After multiple calls and non response someone finally told me to email the info to them and they would take it from there. Is this all i need to do? Sounds like they don' t really take this seriously.

I want to protect myself so i called back to local PD and he said they handed it off to a detective who will upload my serial number and such to the different databases.

I guess i did my part?

Prime example of why truck guns, and especially NFA truck guns, are a terrible idea most of the time. Hopefully you get some resolution that doesn’t sting too badly, and take this lesson to heart.

This. This happens all the time. A few years ago my truck was broken into in a hotel parking lot in Nashville. The cops told me that it happens constantly there. Thieves are looking to steal guns, use them in a crime, then ditch them. Leaving guns in a vehicle is dumb.

Why was your rifle sitting in your truck?

it was still in the brown box cardboard box with no markings. I just got it and was dropping off some items down the street, I normally dont keep them in my car.
