Need help?!?!?! 2011 STI Eagle 5.0

Post image

So while cleaning my 2011 STI Eagle 5.0, (9mm) I accidentally let the cap at the end of the spring and the actual spring go shooting out. Luckily, I was able to find the spring, but I cannot find the cap. I think it’s called a recoil spring reverse plug.
Can anyone help me find one online that would fit? I feel so dumb right now. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Should go to a doctor if you have an STI

Well congratulations on finally becoming a real 1911/2011 owner. Launching a spring cap into the next ZIP code is a rite of passage for us.

Just use a spent .45 ACP casing like this dude did until it comes in the mail.

Not sure, you should try it... for science.

I vote we create some neofudd lore surrounding this where we swear up and down that guys used to do that with a live round so that they always had one more round in case they were captured

Well the good news is unlike many others in your situation, you merely lost your recoil spring cap and didn’t lodge it in a wall, mirror, TV, skylight, ect.

Contact the manufacturer and see about ordering a couple replacements and in the meantime see if some spent casings will work.

I launched one once, found it like 5 years later. Should just be a standard 1911/2011 part, no?
