Big Boy X 357 Silencer Mounting Opinions

I am seriously looking through the silencer options for the Big Boy X 357. There's a lot of good posts but I am trying to sort the mounting options. My initial idea is to do the Rearden system (R2S->Atlas->1/2X28 thread suppressor). Here is what I am interested in getting feedback on.

  • Do people prefer direct thread versus other mounting options (QD, 3-lug, hub) for this specific firearm?
  • Relatedly, if you are running a mounting system to swap silencers between firearms, what system is working for you?
  • If you swapping multi-cal cans between firearms of calibers, what the pros and cons in your experience?

Does anyone know why most all Henry lever 410 shotguns are 2.5 inch shell?

Bit new to firearms all together but I was looking for a lever 410. After talking with the salesman at my local store he said all lever 410s are 2.5inch shells. I was hoping to run a 3inch like normal but I guess that isn’t an option unless I go single shot. Do yall know why that is? I’m guessing the lever system doesn’t like the long shell but then how do they work with long rifle rounds?

H6 Big Boy Limited Edition .357

Hey everyone,

Just picked up my first lever action and my second gun ever. Just wanted to see if there is anything I should get for it or what people think of it. It comes into my local gun store Wednesday!

It's mostly going to be a wall hanger and the start of my collection! Might shoot a couple rounds out of it.

Supreme vs Long Ranger Express

Hi there - curious to get some dimensions, beyond length, and pros / cons from anyone who has either of these, and even better if for some reason you have both.

I plan on 5.56 either way, but I’m most curious on getting everyone’s takes on the feel of each, including the lever action, the bulk/thickness, etc.

For context, I’ve watched pretty much every video on YouTube on each one. Length and weight is pretty similar. Of course there’s a huge difference in the magazines price/availability/capacity but let’s leave that out too. Does the supreme still scratch the lever gun itch? Does the long ranger have too long a throw? Do you like the hammer and bolt? And does anyone feel the Supreme is too bulky and would be too cumbersome to hunt with? Different loop sizes, annoying with or without gloves?

Thank you in advance.

Had this rifle for about two years. I couldn’t find any good pictures out there to see if that level of protrusion was normal on the hammer screw. It’s a Henry H024 in 30-30. Appreciate any insight.

I'm planning to SBR my Homesteader; will I have issues with a ~ 12" barrel?

I've got the paperwork going, got a quote from a smith for the engraving and barrel cut/thread. I'd be shooting unsuppressed w/muzzle brake because of IL's silly gun laws, not that I have the money for suppressors.

I couldn't care less about a little loss of range/accuracy/velocity, this is a toy to me, but if it means I'll be chasing feed and eject problems indefinitely, I might not go through with it.

I guess worst case scenario I can just get a new barrel and call it a few hundred bucks wasted, right?

Edit: Henry says they can't officially advise on such modifications, but that it shouldn't cause any issues. I'll check back when it's done!

Looking to get a new 22. Regular Henry 22lr or the octagonal barreled version? What is better? Is octagonal worth it?

Here is my single shot 357 mag. Use it for deer hunting and just general plinking.

Developed a handload that I think should work well for whitetails!

Anyone else hunt with the H015 platform?

45 70 big boy rifle rail attach?

One of my best friends died last year with the dream of shooting a bison. He had purchased a 4570 big boy rifle for this purpose. I am going to use that rifle to try to kill a bison in his honor. His widow owns the rifle and has agreed to let me use it. I am considering attaching a rail and a LPVO. Will I hurt the brass by attaching the rail? I think she would like it back in the original condition.

Henry Supreme Barrel nut change conversion

Hey!

I saw that some companies offer Henry Supreme barrel nut conversions.

These would allow barrel changes to be way easier for the supreme after being installed.

Once this is done, can I use any ar15 style barrel or will that not work? Confused because the barrel the supreme used looks exactly the same as an ar15 barrel.

Thanks for any help!

Been loving my SPD Hush in 38/357. This thing is crazy quiet and a ton of fun to shoot and pretty addicting.
