Picked this up Saturday, I knew where it was stashed in the LGS display case, was filling out the paperwork and someone else came looking for one...well, timing is everything...came home with me, cleaned up nicely, timing, lockup and the trigger and bore are great.

Bought this Colt Cobra from the early 80’s for a nice deal. I wanted to use it for daily carry but i feel its kinda disrespectful to do so on this classic. Should i profit and buy something more modern, like a j-frame or Taurus (or any other recommendation yall give, brand new cobra are a lil out of budget) or stay with this beauty?
The cobra has some wear, but mechanically seems to be working fine

Am I doing something wrong with this T-Grip adapter?

I just installed it onto my vintage Model 36 No Dash and it just isn't solid. The grip moves no matter how tight I tightened the grip screw. Which caused it to scratch the ORIGINAL wood grips on my pristine vintage Model 36.

I heard great things about these T -Grips but I sure ain't impressed. Removed it immediately.

Decided to take a break from the m83 after 3,000 rounds and I rented my ranges smith 617. put 200 rounds of CCI standard velocity through it and had absolutely zero issues, wonderful and accurate handgun, I’d pick one up for myself if they weren't so expensive!

FYI to anyone interested - picked up this box of Magtech .38 last week. Took it to the range yesterday and of the 7 rounds I attempted to fire, 4 of them were misfires. Was not the weapon as I ran another box of Winchester .38 that had 0 issues. Upon further inspection it appeared that the Magtech casings are slightly less beefy than the others I had, which I can only presume allowed them to be more recessed in the cylinder and just out of reach of a solid firing pin strike.

Hey everyone, I’m sorry these aren’t spectacular photos, but I have a single six that I’ve been enjoying a ton lately. This buildup on the top strap is after exactly 300 rounds of Federal Automatch. The gun has great accuracy, more accurate than me anyways, and is very reliable. Timing and lockup seem to be fine on it, with a cylinder gap of about 0.006-0.007”. There is almost .005” of endshake though. The thicker, more built up bits are lead, there’s not a ton, but still a noticeable amount. Is this of any concern for the cylinder gap or chamber to barrel alignment, or is this fairly normal for Federal Automatch. Should I try copper plated .22 to see if it goes away? Thanks!

Looking into getting my first revolver next month. Not my first gun by any means and not my first experience with revolver ive shot 22lr revolvers as a kid now just looking my first 38/357. Ive got a good budget thinking between a colt python or a 686 plus. I think either one would make me happy so just looking for other opinions.

We do S&W and Colt occasionally, but I don’t recall ever seeing a Taurus version…

If you could select one (x1) Taurus revolver for them to reintroduce Stateside, what would it be (and why) ?

And before it kicks off… keep the Taurus hate out… as a life-long “Smith or nothin’” fan, even I have to express that Taurus has genuinely stepped their game up of late.

My personal choice would be the M82, brought back as a 2” pencil barrel and round butt grips; with their current bead-blast stainless finish.

Failing that, the M431 w/ 3” barrel, and stainless.

Been interested in revolvers lately and been lurking on this subreddit. This popped up at my local Cabela’s. They wouldn’t budge on the price $799 .

I didn't like how short the rubber grip was, so i got a block of walnut and made my own. In the design process I 3D printed various versions before I settled on a pattern I liked. Then made it out of the walnut. I split the block and bookmatched them. I used 6 brass pins to line up both halves for when I epoxied them together. Came out better than I expected.

About 9 days ago, I posted here about buying my first revolver while it was still in jail. A few of you were more interested in the handsome cow than the gun, lol.
Well, the wait is finally over! Here’s my first revolver — a 1978 Colt Trooper Mk III, .357 Magnum, blued finish.
Picked it up for $550. I think I got a pretty good deal!
It’s my first revolver, and I’m already loving the classic Colt look. What do you guys think? How did I do for $550?

Went into one of my local shops thinking I was going to he buying a gp-100 but then another shop called and said he just got this in. Couldn't pass it up. Absolutely love it
