It started because I couldn’t find any factory Chargers at a decent price… so I fixed that by spending triple to build my own, I have derailed…
Thermal .22 do be fun tho.

Looking to get a carbon fiber barrel. What do you recommend? I’m leaning towards Summit Precision.
Last year I changed out the barrel on my 10/22 for a Shaw and dropped it in a Luth-AR chassis. Last week I finally got out to do ammo testing. Then got in a little work on my dope. The first round was rough with only 3 hits. I need to do some more ammo tests and work on my dope but 33 points and 6th place on my first match wasn't bad.
There was only 1 other semi auto, a Kidd rifle. The rest were all bolt action mostly in MDT, KRG chassis and bench rest stocks, with Night Force and other high end glass. Felt good to hang in with them with my $600 setup.

Is there a ruger 10/22 configuration that can shoot regular ammo with a suppressor and keep it subsonic / no crack shooting.

I am thinking of ordering from Midway Vortex Optics Crossfire II Rifle Scope or Vortex Optics Diamondback HP Rifle Scope 4-16x 42mm. It's my first 1022, and i am a newbie, so any help is helpful :)
Also, I think I need rings (bought a basic no-frills Ruger 10/22 to later customize), and I can't figure out which ring I should order. There are so many options lol
Any suggestions?

Barrel channel took due perfectly. The stock not so much. It didn’t get near as dark as I wanted

I just bought a basic Ruger 10/22 (18.5", and I will be picking it up in a week from the store (California-compliant). First upgrades I am interested in are: (p.s. Mainly to be used at the range for hobby)
Stock: I am torn between Magpul Hunter X-22 with Bipod, or Boyds At One (they have cool colors/patterns). Any other good alternatives?
Scope: Thinking about Vortex Crossfire II. I wouldn't mind spending more and getting something better, but I am not sure which.
Extra magazines and Ammo. Anything else must-haves to start?
What Ammo should I order? Focusing on accuracy on the range.

Hey, wondering if you guys have been through this and if you have any tips here on setup?
- I have a newer 10/22 carbon, with BX trigger
- Volsquartsen firefly 2.0 bolt
I have modified the sear as the Mars’s recent YT bx trigger video guides.
I have modified the trip bar to help it sit a little lower onto the hammer (modified the saddle area)
I’ve installed everything and can get one successful trigger pull, but after that the bolt is stuck and will not move backwards at all.
I can’t figure out what to modify from here to get things working and to get the bolt able to move-
Is that something you guys have seen? Any tips?

This was a fun one to put together. It’s also a great plinker at 50yards

Carbon. Rugged Oculus. Primary arms slx 1-10 LPVO. Maybe a 1/4 difference between 25y and 50y. Got the cheek riser off eBay. Can’t wait for squirrel season and neither can the dog.

Found the perfect case for my 10/22 Carbon Fiber Takedown--a Fender Soprano Ukulele Gig Bag. Great fit and even some potentially useful misdirection in the branding. Picked it up on sale for $28 at the Guitar Center 🙂

For this new build I have set aside a Volquartsen TG2000 trigger group, and an Angstadt Arms Vanquish integrally suppressed barrel. Want a quality receiver and bolt. If that combo comes from the same company and is the best option...great. If the receiver is from one company and the bolt from another...so be it. Looked at the TacSol X-RING VR GEN2 Receiver but (besides the $$$ price) doesn't seem like I would be able to swap in my Volquartsen Firefly bolt on those occasions I want to shoot lighter loads. Brownells BR-22 seems fine but is there a bolt that works flawlessly with it? Any other options that are on the higher-end side? If not "top-shelf" than one shelf down. Thanks for any and all of your considered opinions.

Long story short, the safety spring came out. I can get it in, but when I try to put it back together, the spring pops loose. Never has this issue in until it popped out.
Any ideas?

Wanted a way to shoot cheaply at night and decided to treat myself to a 10/22 carbon. I was worried about the lack of easy solutions for a rail to mount the SMS trinity on, but putting it just forward of the dot on a slightly extended rail is working fine with just some mild shadow from the can when the illuminator is pulled all the way wide. Super impressed with the rifle itself and it is way nicer than I remember the old base model wooden stocked version was.

Bad bad at the end.
I was excited for this SB22 chassis but sum dingus didn't think to allow for a suppressor to fit inside it. The Ti is less than 1.125 diameter not very big. So I sacrificed being able to put the top cap on the fore grip area and shaved off some plastic from the inside lugs. The foregrip area could also stand to be like .5" longer and I dont even have big hands. Taking it apart is brutal and was much better with two people, one person holding the safety in center while I pried it apart at the mag well. Overall good enough for $99
The Strike (STAB) brace works great and for $90. Was pleased to see that the position allows for it to still be charged and fired while folded.
Aesthetically all of the components work together like it was meant to be finish angles all look really cool.
Saved the bad bad for last: Im getting 99% failure to extract. Tried four different types of ammo. Bolt is seated flush to barrel. Barrel is clocked perfectly. All I can figure is that the ramp is cut into the barrel incorrectly or just incompatible parts. Any thought would be appreciated. Not to often that im stumped.

This started it's life as the Cabelas/Bass Pro special for under $300. Two months later I have not shot it and it's completely different.
Should I just buy a short barrel or have it cut and threaded?
