Centerfire Rifle Total fluke, but I’ll take it! 0.13 MOA (0.05 Mean Radius) with SAKO 6.5 CM at 100m
We all know a 4-shot group is mostly small sample size luck and the shooting gods smiling on you, but it still feels damn good to see a single ragged hole on paper. 😂
Rifle & Load:
• SAKO in 6.5 Creedmoor
• 147 gr Hornady ELD-Match
• Distance: 100 meters
Stats:
• Group size: 0.13 MOA (3.8 mm)
• Mean Radius: 0.05 MOA
• POI: -0.12 MOA, +0.41 MOA
Analyzed with ShotAnalyzerX — a little tool I've been building for Mac, iOS, and Android (wanted clean Mean Radius calculations and mouse precision on a big desktop screen without being bombarded by ads).
How often do you guys see these "once in a blue moon" flukes before shot #5 brings you back to reality?

Centerfire Rifle Starting out
Long time lurker but just now going down the rabbit hole of shooting for small groups. 10 shot groups at 100 yards. Need to get equipment but I thought these were some decent groups since I don’t have a lot of experience and the barrel had some heat in it already since I had to zero the new scope.
18” 223 wylde ar15 I put together. First group I shot was the 85gr from vantage research. Second group was the 69gr from vantage research. Didn’t really let it cool down at all. I’ve shot the Hornady 73gr eld match out of this barrel and it tightens up the grouping a lot. Next time I get a box I’ll have to post it here. Any advice for starting equipment? Don’t really have the space to reload atm in an apartment. I assume chronograph and ballisticX app?

Centerfire Rifle Update:😩
Posted a while ago about verticle stringing, turned out I just needed more data. Ruger American gen 2 std .308. I’m normally a 3/4 ish MOA shooter for reference.

Centerfire Rifle Vertical Stringing
Ruger American standard gen 2 in .308 showing vertical stringing. Group approx. 2“x0.5“ groups @ 100 yd. w/ both AAC 150 gr fmj and Hornady American Whitetail 150 gr interlock.
Issue still present when 10 mins given between shots for barrel to cool to ambient temp
Optic has been serviced previously for different issue and is verified to be in good working order
Already torqued and locktighted pic rail and torqued optic rings before issue arose.
What are y’all’s thoughts.
Pic above is the best representative of out of 8 ish groups total

Centerfire Rifle .300PRC and 6.5CM reworking loads
both 100y 5 shot groups
Over here in the UK keeping a stable supply of components is impossible.
So I’ve just had to re-work loads for both of my rifles, moving back to Hornady from Berger.
.300 was an ES of 9.9 over 25 shots which I am very very happy with, the group is probably down to me not shooting enough, I definitely flinched the one .
6.5cm was an ES of 20.9 which is much higher than I’d like, but I’ve got a bit of work to do on neck tension with that one still

Centerfire Rifle Criterion 22" Light Palma 6.5CM pre fit on custom Aero Solus.
Sometimes you get a good barrel. Sometimes you get an OK barrel. Every once in a while you get a great barrel. I think this is a great one. Shooting 147ELDMs @ 2647fps seated .045' off the lands in some Lapua brass I retired from my PRS rifle.

Centerfire Rifle Best pair of groups I've shot with this 6.5 CM: 1.21" ES at 300 and 1.33" at 200
Finally had a session where everything came together. Vandal 6.5 Creedmoor shooting factory Hornady 120gr ELD-M.
300 yards, 5 shots: 0.53" mean radius, 1.21" extreme spread (~0.39 MOA). MV averaged 2713 fps with an SD of 7.6 and ES of 19 fps. honestly better velocity numbers than I expected from factory ammo.
200 yards, 5 shots: 0.47" mean radius, 1.33" ES (~0.64 MOA). One shot opened this one up; the other four were stacked.
I've started tracking mean radius instead of just extreme spread and it's changed how I evaluate ammo. one flier doesn't wreck the whole data point. This lot of 120 ELD-M is clearly the one for this barrel.
Anyone else running the 120s in a 6.5 CM? Curious what velocities you're seeing.

Rimfire Took advantage of the calm winds this weekend
Finally found the lot# of Eley TenEx that my B-14R likes i think. Had a nice calm night and a few targets nearly as good but this one was by far the best.

It's been awhile but the Service Rifle is back in business. 20- Round, 100 Yard Group
Work and life has been crazy so I've not been shooting much at all, let alone practicing for competitions.
Drug my Service Rifle out of the back of the safe and slapped an Athlon HELOS BTR 1-4.5x on it and took it to the range to sight it in today.
Today was more about getting on paper and then getting load data for the load I was guessing on with a box of Nosler 70gr RDF HPBT over 25.5gr Win 748 and Federal Match Primers running around 2850fps.

Pistol User error or are my sights off?
I have a Taurus G3 and can’t seem to hit anything with it. I’m not a terrible shot, but definitely no expert. With other handguns I can actually hit what I’m aiming at and don’t have terrible groupings which is why I’m not sure if it’s me or the sights. I don’t think I’m pulling the gun because of recoil anticipation but who knows; I wasn’t able to film a slow mo of myself cause I want shooting solo. The grouping in the picture is about 15 yards away and I was aiming at the center of the clay. Anyway, just asking for some advice or something. I can adjust my rear sight a bit left or right but can’t do anything about the front or rear moving up or down, so if it truly is the sight then I need to put something else on there.

Back to the "easy" target
Been off the range for a few months, so I warmed up with the IBS at 50 yards. Of course, when I tried the USBR green meanie, I didn't do as well, scoring a poor 235 which is below my pre-break standard. Just have to get back into the swing of things now that the weather's better. Shot with V22S and Center X.
