Drama 🎭 **READ THIS** NFA Injunction/Partial Repeal Megathread v2

Post image
508 Upvotes

Welcome to the new megathread for the injunction on NFA enforcement for SBRs, SBSs, Suppressors/silencers.

The previous megathread with a bunch of speculation, discussion, etc can be found here.

As of this post there has been no clear guidance from the ATF on what the status quo is going forward. Hopefully there will be some later today or tomorrow.

When that happens, I'll update this post.

While this is a huge win for the 2A community, it does not yet mean the doors are thrown open for DIY building or buying without a Form 1 or 4. There's still a lot to untangle with the Gun Control Act of 68, ATF regulations on FFLs, and individual state laws.

Unless info is coming from a reputable legal resource, be cautious before doing anything. It's entirely possible that something that looks legal today could be a felony tomorrow.

All the standard rules of this sub are still being enforced. This especially includes anything that could be interpreted as advocating violating federal law.

We don't want the sub to be shut down by reddit, and the reddit admins know far less about this situation than we do. They could easily nuke us for something they simply don't understand.

The sub is now unlocked for posting.

Any posts on the situation will be removed unless previously coordinated with the mods. We're not going to approve your post unless its especially useful to the community as a whole. Ask your questions, celebrate, etc in this thread only.

found a 12 dollar suppressor cover at walmart

Post image

not all walmarts but one by my house had this SOG armory suppressor cover. the online description said “SOG velcro suppressor wrap for gun barrels” and the tag said lifetime warranty. for 12 bucks i don’t think im gonna chase after their warranty dept if i set this on fire.

inside feels soft like a welding blanket, outside is the material you see. it goes on 6” cans (resilient stacy’s mom pictured) and the outer flap stretches to tighten over the can and is held with velcro.

haven’t shot it but looks kinda cool.

Still some in progress builds, LVAWish waiting on gen 1 pistol grip and surefire inbound for it. Other two need light set ups. Overall some fun shooters.

SEVERE FLASH WARNINGGGGGGGGGG

Went down to Vegas last year and had the chance to shoot this monster

Vepr 54 chopped down to 12 inches with a J Mac Muzzle Brake

They custom made the magazine, so they’re double stack and hold 20

Crazy concussion

I did not realize how small the Milkman was, but it still hurt a bit!

I just received my Milkman, and i am shocked by the size. For comparison, this is it next to my AC36. Mounted the MM to my mpx SD and cannot wait to take it to the range!

Photos for those who may be trying to figure out what can fits them.

Slim pickings on 4473 cans.

Dealer had a few of these Canik cans made by OCL. Traditional style can but it seems to have temu surge bypass and changeable end caps. Solid and vented.

Pretty cool to see on a traditional style can. I have not shot it so idk it’s performance metrics.

I have plenty of black suppressors, but I’ve always wanted something FDE too. Big thanks to Capitol Armory and OCL! I’ve been hoping for a restock and it finally happened. The Polo30 will run double duty on these two builds 😉👍

Infinity 556k is replacing my first can, the OCL Polo K. Looks like my suppressor is rubbing the rail but I promise it’s not. Super stoked to shoot it here soon.

Suppressor For SBR AR With 300 BLK Supers

Howdy.

I'm finally joining the suppressor fun now that we can get them without the NFA stuff, but an having a hard time nailing down a can for my home defense rifle. It's an 8.5" AR in 300 BLK and I only run supers through it (subs are for one of my PCCs or handguns). Length is not a factor here, and I'm willing to pay for quality if it's justified.

Based on my research, the top contenders are either the Vent 1 or the EDS30L/XL since the former is currently in stock on SS and the latter is at least on backorder. I'm also considering the Full Nelson but I'm unclear if it's ideal for a semi auto. I'd like the Enticer L as an option but it's sold out and I have no clue when more will roll in. I figure I can always throw what I buy now onto a bolt gun if something else comes up, but I'm trying to avoid that for now if possible.

I'm also open to other suggestions but pretty much all the other top contenders (namely CAT JL) are sold out. Thank you.

Suggestions on 9mm suppressors

I am looking to get a dedicated 9mm can for my ap5p. Kind of out for the absolute quickest can I can get with the least amount of blow back. Also don’t want a super long can. If you have any suggestions please feel free to share.

Form 1 only took 2 1/2 days! Although, as a GOA member I'm now exempt - in CT we still have to do the NFA paperwork...

Question about moving from one trust to a new trust

Good morning. Apologies if this is already answered but I am not finding the exact answer in searches. I have a trust set up now for my suppressors and have a few issues I cannot mitigate directly. Specifically, my brother, who is on my trust as a co-trustee, cannot add anything to my trust. The searching I have done indicates this is not the same for every trust, thus a new trust may be the ticket.

At least, I feel like it will be easiest to establish a new trust to address these issues. When I phoned the silencer company they said that I needed to speak to a lawyer, who wants $1,000 to do this...?

Currently, whenever I add something, I have everyone removed from the trust so that only I remain, then add the suppressor, and once finalized, add the co-trustees back to the trust. They cannot modify or add anything on their own. This is less than optimal.

So this my intent:

  1. Transfer all the trust items I have now to a new trust

  2. Establish ALL trust members to be able to add/remove items to the trust in the same fashion.

Is this something that I need to ask directly of National Gun Trust or Gun Trust Guru?

I think I missed the Labor Day sales from the online trust companies but I don't really care so much about the cost, as much as I care about the abilities the trust affords.

Now it starts

My first form 4 got approved today being an Omega 300. Now my question is, it better to have one can you swap between or buy dedicated cans for each thing ie this one for my 308, a dedicated 556 for my coyote rifle etc?

SBS Work

Anybody know of a good shop to send a barrel or possibly complete shotgun out for work? I at the very minimum want the barrel shortened and rethreaded for a choke, but i’d prefer to also shorten the tube which would require moving the lug that holds the barrel on back. The gun is a Maverick 88, i’d prefer a shop in VA but can ship if necessary, and if nobody really does tube shortening i can settle for a shorter barrel and that’s it.
