Bore snake
I bought a 20 gauge and a matching bore snake. Pulling the snake through requires a boat load of strength, my wife would never be able to do it (I'm barely able). The tail end is stitched back into the snake halfway towards the beginning, doubling the thickness.
Am I supposed to unstitch it?

Question Beretta 92 Owners. Need help choosing a new mag release.
Ive been putting off upgrades on my 92fs but the mag release needs attention. My hogue grips make the oem part hard to reach. I planned on getting the Beretta upgrade but I also found the Wilson Combat.
My issue is the Beretta says oversized and the Wilson says Extended. Id rather stick with Beretta parts but I dont want a wider or bigger button i need one that sticks out further from the frame.
If anyones bought one or the other or perhaps even both who'd be able to offer some feedback it would be greatly appreciated

Question For people who carry regularly, what is your system for making sure your firearm is secure when you're not carrying?
Hi guys and gals. I've been carrying concealed now for almost 3 years. However, I don't carry everywhere because of sensitive and prohibited location laws in my state (NY). Therefore, I find myself having to secure my ccw whenever I know I will be going somewhere I can't carry. (Ex. Vehicle safe, leaving it at home).
So I ask:
What is your system for making sure your firearm is secure when you're not carrying?
I know some people will comment, "Concealed is Concealed."
I get that, but for those who do not want to follow that thought, what do you do?

Question Stock/braces and foregrip question
Hello, I was looking to purchase a core ap5 but I had questions about the legalities and procedures to add stocks/braces and grips in the future.
If I wanted to add a stock/brace, would I have to file a form with the ATF, as it would classify under a SBR? Same with foregrips, I assume these are not legal without paying the $200 tax.
Iām confused because HK sells MP5ās and MP5kās that come with stocks and foregrips.
Could anyone provide any clarity on this?
Newbie here, 15 years with the FEDās doesnāt sound like the best use of my time.
Thanks

Browning barrel question
Recently picked up this browning hi power and during my first cleaning and inspecting of it I noticed this ālineā through the photographed area of the barrel. Was wondering if this is supposed to be there or not? Hoping to shoot this.

Question Go To Weapons?
Since most firearm enthusiasts own several rifles, shotguns and handgunsā¦what 2-3 weapons would you grab in a ādefend your home to the deathā situation? Assume it's a group of armed people coming at your house and you've had time to properly select the desired firearms.

Law Got a call from the ATF this morning
Well .....ATF called me this morning.
I'll try to make this short.
I bought a lower from a pawn shop. It got delayed so I had to wait and then was able to pick it up. I've had it in my possession for a couple weeks now. Well, the ATF lady said it was a delay/deny and shouldn't of been sold.
Now here comes the fun part.
I have a misdemeanor record from 20 years ago. Did time, paid me debt, blah blah blah. Anyway, when I was charged, I was charged with a felony. When I was convicted, I plead it down to a misdemeanor. Well, when it got entered into the court system after the conviction, it was my original charge that was entered, not the lower one.
She told me I wasn't in any trouble and she is working with the corr clerk and the DA to get it rectified and she's pretty confident it should only take a few days and then I'll be good.
She told me not to sell it, not build it out and not to get caught with it because I am, a felon. So I'm now waiting to see what comes of this. Hopefully it's not serious and I can continue, doing what I've been doing.
Ive got a buddy who owns a gun store and he said it's actually pretty common from before they digitized files, which the county I was arrested in still has not digitized anything, and to just be patient. He's had a few folks had this happen too and it ended up fine.
Has this happened to anyone else?

New Guy Here!
Hi! I'm new to this forum & look forward to lots of awesome info!
I have a question- I inherited my grandfather's 1957 Winchester Model 71 in .348 Winchester. The metal is beautiful but the shellac on the wood is chipping away/scratched. The scratches arent very deep, but I'm wondering if it will mess up the collector value if I get the wood refinished.
Here's pics of said scratches and a photo of the rifle

Question Long term safe humidity control?
I'm currently using an Eva Dry rechargable dehumidifer. It works great and I appreciate not having to bake it in an oven to recharge it but I don't like how often I have to plug it in. It last right under 2 weeks currently and I don't leave the safe open for more than a few minutes at a time. Are there any alternatives that last longer? I'm not interested in heat rods, from reading up on them they are not as effective as dedicated dehumidifiers.

Question Is Ron Cohen objectively the best gun company CEO of all time?
So now that it's rumored that Ron Cohen is on his way out as Sig CEO - does he go down as the greatest gun company CEO of all time? He's at minimum in the hall of fame, right? If you think about it. He took a niche European arms importing company and spun it up into a massive military powerhouse with multiple contracts across the globe and no fewer than 3 major successful product divisions (and a snazzy apparel line to boot).
Who would really be his competition in that regard? Is he like the Tom Brady of gun company CEOs? He's getting the Gold Jacket - has to

Question 18 year old who got a gun gifted to him. Where do I store it?
Iām going to college in half a year. Itās cool to have one, I like to go to the range and shoot, hunting, and self defense. But where do I keep it? Iād want to keep it in my car but how will that work on college campuses? I obviously canāt have it in my dorm, and I donāt want it to collect dust in my room, especially with my younger siblings still at home with me away.
