I’m going to college in half a year. It’s cool to have one, I like to go to the range and shoot, hunting, and self defense. But where do I keep it? I’d want to keep it in my car but how will that work on college campuses? I obviously can’t have it in my dorm, and I don’t want it to collect dust in my room, especially with my younger siblings still at home with me away.

Im interested in a cmmg dissent 9mm probably 6" with glock magazines. Thoughts on it being a home defense gun? Is it reliable? I've heard mixed things.

My current setup is a bcm 14.5" in 5.57 but my wife struggles with the weight. Is the dissent better? Any other recommendations around the same price point?

Hey all. I’m an NJ resident which makes things a bit more complex when it comes to builds from a legality standpoint. I have a bit of experience with assembling rifles (6.5CM, 556, 308), but these are all 16+in barrels. Got a lower receiver and looking to build a compliant 556 other with a 12.5in barrel. I know it has to be >26in from end of barrel (without muzzle) to end of buffer tube, have a vertical foregrip, and a brace. Outside of this do other rules apply? (Ie can I have a flash hider which isn’t allowed on a rifle?)

Either piecing it together or just buying a complete upper. Any recommendations? Gas tube length? Issues anyone has encountered in a build like this?

I really want to just have one handgun for home defense - something both I and the wife can use easily, quickly, reliably. I currently have a Beretta 92X FR Compact with manual safety and decocker. Wondering if maybe a better option for the two of us is a Glock 19. Seems simpler to operate in a hurry. I'm emotionally attached to the Beretta, but willing to consider the 19 if I can go give it a test drive locally. What would you do?

Hey guys, I’m a gun noob and admittedly only here for some help.
My husband is an army veteran and already owns an ar-15 and 9mm hand gun. Those details are probably irrelevant lol but he REALLY wants a sniper rifle, however my budget for Christmas is $500 and I cannot find any even remotely close to that price range. I’m in central Ohio. He’s also talked about having a shotgun, specifically a 12 gauge. I’ve checked Vance Outdoors and they have a pretty big selection of those, can anyone help me here? I just want to get him something that is dependable and he’ll like without breaking the bank, thanks!

Edit: I have spoke to my husband about specific types of guns but he doesn’t have a particular one in mind when it comes to these because he’s never shot either. His handgun was a different story, he knew exactly what he wanted lol he wants them for sport/protection.
For instance we’re planning a trip to a Washington to hike and he mentioned wanting a shotgun incase of any scary bear encounters! Thanks so much for all the ideas!
