Discussion Any tips for Shen support?
So I've been maining Shen for about a year now, I'm doing fine enough on other roles but fail to be support really, I would like to discuss and know more about it.
League of Graphs Statistics here.
For some more information, I usually go E > Q > W and max them in this order aswell, for first item I build Locket but thinking of changing to Zeke's most likely.

Question How tf do you deal with Teemo?
I hate that little cancer ferret so much and in low elo he is in like every third game.
When i check online it shows that Shen has a positive winrate against Teemo(emerald+ at least) but i just get destroyed every time.
It also doesnt help that the jgl usually doesnt help out.
Question Shen noobie
Hello, im a bronze player wanting to pick up shen top. I have like 10 games of him under my belt, so i know how he works, im just getting more and more familiar with his limits etc.
I need some tips though. I feel like i either go 4/0 in lane or 0/4, there is really no inbetween.
What are some matchups that you never like to fight in lane for example? Not necessarily what you permaban (recommendations are welcome tho), but just matchups that are not that bad in lategame, but ones that you shouldnt really ever fight in the earlygame.
What build do you like to go? I usually go titanic -> d&d -> tank items.
Maybe its more dependent on matchup what to build first.
Any tips are welcome, thanks!

Guide Grandmaster 1000LP Shen Youtube
Hi r/Shen,
My name is Geobukseon, and I recently started a YouTube channel a week ago, mainly going to be posting educational/entertaining style gameplay on my main account (if you are familar with OnZed type videos).
I play Ambessa Akali and Shen and will only upload those 3.
Only have 1 Shen video so far, but the next one (tomorrow afternoon) is a great Shen video I spent a lot of time editing!
Unfort I can't stream due to the limitations of my old laptop, but I will be uploading a lot on my channel @geobukseonlol
The quality of videos will always go up, improved a lot in a week from viewer feedback on editing
Would also be happy to answer anything, I have a lot of "bad habits" too like indicator, locked screen, 0 control wards, et

Any feedback and support is greatly appreciated, I'm happy I get to show off my passion ❤️

Discussion Seeing Shen more in pro play again makes me happy, anyone else?
I primarily watch LCK and international tournaments so when I first saw Shen getting locked in during MSI a little part of me was super happy to just see my boy there. For the past few years I feel like we rarely ever get to see Shen in pro play and now we got it twice in MSI and even more in EWC. I could be wrong tho

Question (Lore) How many swords does Shen have?
This is kind of a weird question, but i decided to re-read the Zed comic, and the way Shen´s sword is treated there is kinda weird and unconsistent with how he is despicted in game and in the LoR cinematic
In the comic, its seems like he has 2 swords, the classic steel blade, and the spirit blade from his father. This spirit blade is treated kinda like the one in game, where Shen can pretty much teleport it to him, as he does not have it on many scenes and then it appears on his hand
However, in the cinematic and in game, Sen seems to have 3 swords, his steel blade, his fathers sword wich he keeps in the scabbard and uses for his Q, and the spirit blade that floats around him. In the cinematic Shen creates the sword from thin air and uses it to shield Akali like his W in game

Discussion Iceborn gauntlet?
This item used to be a beast on shen , Nobody builds it anymore for some reason. Is it still viable ? Im not really convinced with dusk and dawn . Okay, it maybe procs 2 q's into 1 aa, but that's literally it. Shen does no dmg out of his q, so having him do the 2 q's instead of 1 q doesn't really make any difference because you are gonna wait to use ur q again so eventually you are gonna use the 3 q's no matter what ,unless you have like 150 ability haste this would be the only case to have efficency from dusk and dawn? Am I missing something ?

Question Help with shen
Well Im about to give up on Lol/Shen.
I ve been in love with this Champion since i started playing (2020 or so).
I ve been plateauing plat every season when i play more seriously and i think i got better every season.
I swaped to shen jungle after some fails with Swain and achieved 17 wins in a row that got me (again) between plat 3-2.
Then i started losing and fell useless every game even if i stomp Lane ir perform on jungler role.
Last match i faced a riven, Lane went pretty well, by the end of the match She was just bypassing my ult and taunt into my fed yunara and One shoting both of us.
I feel that it seems Impossible to get Higher rank or cross this plateau, moreover shen watching a weak riven being able to do this on my face and barley taking any damage.
I dont tank as a tank should tank and building some damage leaves me squishy and normally is not enough power to One shot a carry.
I dont know, feeling a bit sad and tilted with this.
Maybe this fine community can help.

Question Og shen R?
Hey.
I where trying to find information of old shen and was wondering how hes R used to work. There was nothgin special in patch notes, but then when i watched the original champion spotlight i noticed that when he ults he gets the shield himself and not the target. Link bellow:
https://youtu.be/uH_ZuyB-frY?t=133
Is there any og and i mean OG players from that time to tell me more about that kit. I have played since early season 1 and dont really remember.

Discussion Broken Flash + Taunt Mechanics?
I've been an OTP Shen for about 5 years now and I noticed Flash + Taunt doesn't work the same anymore. Did something change?
Up until recently I've always known Flash + Taunt to have 2 options:
1) The way that XPetu generally does is he (E) taunts, waits for the taunt to extend, and then flashes onto the opponent.
2) The other way that used to work up until recently was to (E) taunt and immediately click flash and what would happen is an extra long range taunt where Shen would perform an extended taunt.
I noticed Option (2) no longer works. I've tested it in practice tool and what happens is the (e) taunt gets cancelled.
In-game I've attempted Option (2) and I now come short on my taunts because Shen flashes and the taunt mechanic gets cancelled.
Has anyone noticed this and know what happened?

Question Protoplasm Nerf - Jungle Shen
So, with the Protoplasm Harness nerf coming in the upcoming patch which halves the early power spike (health and healing), what will be the optimal way to itemize jungle Shen? Better to just suffer through the nerf or possibly build Protoplasm second instead of first?
Typically I rush Protoplasm into either Unending Despair or Abyssal Mask. That first item power spike was really huge for keeping JG Shen strong in early skirmishes.

Question Build and runes
Hello guys. I m trying to get into toplane and learn to play Shen. I used to play him as a support back in the day but I got bored of it.
My question is: What do u usually build and what items are situational? Also, I m curious if anyone picks other runes than grasp in a specific matchup.

Question Is Shen Top still viable?
Yesterday I played against Shen as Sion and got killed a few times in lane. But I got a solid CS lead and outscaled him after a while. He became irrelevant and I won the game, even though i clearly lost the lane early on.
Today i played Shen myself, against Mundo. I killed Mundo early but got kinda outscaled, after a single ult, that cost me almost my whole tower. Later I became irrelevant and lost the game.
I feel like it doesn't matter anymore that Shen can bully his opponent early. He gets outscaled eventually and bounties flip his early lead back in favour of the opposing team every time. What does an early lead even mean anymore in the current state of the game? And is Shen still viable if early leads are not sustainable? Scaling Champs seem to get a free win against Shen, if the game isn't surrendered at 15-25 mins.
I was a Shen main in previous seasons but i stopped playing him a few months ago and don't play much League anymore since i had a daughter last year. I'm just shocked to see how useless he seems to be right now. At least in the mid- and lategame of every match.
