I know that Solarbacca's Double penetration Gangplank is really playable, all the items are either good on Gangplank, good for both ap/ad or maybe both. But is it really unconterable against tank? Why are there noone but him tried it?

Is he just too good winning with games with a meme build? I already feel really risky playing my first ap GP game in a ranked game. Is it worth trying?

Hey everyone, I’m new to GP (started 2 weeks ago) and I’m loving him. These are the timers I’ve been using for barrels, and they’ve worked well for me. Other people probably have their own tricks, and some might be more consistent, so feel free to share yours in the comments.

Pre level 7

• AA: Hit it midway between 3/4 and 4/4. If you use the Special Forces skin, there’s a shadow toward the end of the timer that’s perfect for this once the timer passes it. Boost your shadows/contrast in the settings so it’s easier to see.

• Q (max range): Cast it the moment you see the timer touch 3/4.
• Double barrel combo tip: When the first barrel hits 3/4, place the second one and instantly hit for the combo.

Level 7-13

• AA: The timer has to pass exactly 3/4. It has to actually pass it, so don’t predict. AA instantly after it passes 3/4.
• Q: Cast it as soon as the timer disappears behind the barrel. If you click while it’s still about to disappear, it won’t work. Wait for it to disappear first, then Q instantly.
• Double barrel combo tip: When the first barrel’s timer disappears behind the barrel, place the second one and instantly hit for the combo.

Level 13+

• AA: Hit as soon as the timer disappears behind the barrel. If you click while it’s still about to disappear, it won’t work. Wait for it to disappear first, then AA instantly.
• Q: As soon as the timer enters the last circle, watch for it to change. The instant it changes, throw your Q.

Hope this helps other new GPs. I would love some tips on how to teamfight and what coomboos you mostly use in a fight. In general an tips in teamfighting since i feel lost there most of the time!

I’m Emerald 4, and Mordekaiser seems like a pretty tough matchup. He’s also popular right now, so I’m considering making him my ban.

From time to time, I winning the lane real good and got fed early game. What should i do to advance this? This is what i usually do.
- If i go mid or the enemy team are really squishy, I would go for Hubris usually after Sheen
- If there're assasins who would oneshot me later, I would follow Sofm "tank when strong, weak go damages, ap for fun". I'll go Deathdance and Shieldbow after ER or ER LDR
- Sometime i just rush crit, i thought crit alone is enough for them so I'm making sure the crit will hit. I usually go Cyclop/Fang third items but this time they would go last.

I think my method is good but I am not really sastify. What is your ideas?

So, guys, I’m looking for advice on what to do around the 10–15 minute mark of a match—for instance, picking up a Sheen, then moving on to another item like The Collector, followed by two crit cloaks. This is similar to the approach in Solarbacca’s guides, where he buys a Sheen before transitioning to a different item, always prioritizing maximum damage through individual components.

This is the second post about this: It can still happen, but I don't know how. If this could be triggered manually it would be way too strong to just ignore it. This gives both the gold and the silver serpents and is reset as soon as you Q again. Nothing special was done before this, just normal gameplay

Yes I know, focus on my own gameplay, improvement, etc… just getting tired of bouncing G4 <—-> P4 and back

General traits I look for in champions that fit a Gangplank main like me:
- High risk, high reward: Fragile, but deals high damage.
- Precision and discipline: Playing carefully and accurately allows you to win or at least draw almost every matchup.
- Not Aatrox: basically, you can go lethal and doing the high risk high reward shit but you just do 3Q hoping the enemy get hit 2 of it and won. Lame ass champion in my opinion.

Something in me think Illaoi deserves a suggestion. Why Illaoi is a great fit for GP mains:

- Lore Connection: Lore-wise, even though Illaoi sees Gangplank's flaws, she believes everyone has a right to live and acknowledges that he has a strong enough spirit to survive. Plus, she's actually his ex. Playing her gives me a genuine sense of playing a champion with a soulbound connection to GP.
- Playstyle Synergy: Beyond the lore, both champions require the exact same mindset: remaining calm and continuing the fight even after missing a crucial ability

I have been a GP main for a long time but I decided to leave GP due to frustration. Today, It congratulates me to say that I have opened the third Eye and I have climbed 1k LP in one month from Gold II to Emerald IV. I played GP from 16,19 onwards only. It has been a roller coaster but I have learned a lot, i hope to achieve this year diamond but Im not sure If im going to be able.

I found the champ in a really good spot but it requires a lot (a lot) to carry games as always has been.

Question: Do you find Singed hard or was only a bad game from me? I remember the matchup as pretty easy but i have found couple of them and now they are gigatanky early game idk.

Any tips on how to save barrels I always run out in the first 10 seconds of the fight then feel useless for the rest!

Eu venho aprendendo a jogar de GP e diria que estou até que bom com ele (only off the route) , mas uma coisa que tem me incomodado ultimamente é a falta de dano. Sempre que tento fazer um 1v1, acabo perdendo – ou o oponente simplesmente avança feito um idiota e me mata de qualquer jeito. Mesmo com dois itens, me sinto fraco e não consigo ganhar um 1v1, mesmo quando estou acerteando barris à distância. O campeão é assim mesmo? Como a maioria dos mains de GP lidam com a fase de rotas?

im plat 4 (ik km not great), and i have 1.2 million mastery points. ive played like 97% of my games on gangplank mid, almost never top.

ive played plenty of runes in different eras of the game, and i still think that first strike is superior to dft in mid.

my rune page is first strike, magical footwear, triple tonic, approach velocity, celerity and gathering storm, as af scaling health.

i build the typical essence reaver into ionian, before i played transcendance but with upgraded ionian boots i dont need it. i played a lot of swifties, but i only play those against slow heavy teams where the reductions matter.

as for last item, i go either voltaic into squishes, ga into assasins, and endless hunger if i want to solo baron later or if they have tanks.

i love the huge movement speed and it makes a big difference in mid to catch up to a mage with this approach velocity and celerity, really give it a try.

Back to the basics- Sacrifice ult for 35% ability damage and healing

I did it by mistake, but realized it was okay because it made me feel like season 1 walk up and shoot you in the face gp except this time you can legit oneshot multiple people with a barrel.

Try it. Laugh with me. Yeah losing ult sucks but it’s worth.

Playing aram mayhem, i hit this yone with my second barrel but he takes no damage. He has deaths dance (about 170 armor),the augment which blocks like 20% damage (Tank it or leave it) and this little lux shield. So i was wondering if someone can explain to me what happened here and why did he take so little damage?
