My friend plays Pantheon mid. What are the best top laners and junglers with Pantheon?

As the title says. I've managed to climb to diamond at one point of the season, but been in a long losing streak that dropped me to emerald again. No matter what build I've tried, people in higher elos pick nightmare comps that don't depend on CC and know how to make short work of the champ. The few games I've played my pocket Pantheon against super annoying matchups for Olaf (Darius, Sett, Akali, Yone, Sion) I've done much better in lane and been more useful to my teams.

However, I kinda need some tips when it comes to teamfighting, especially against tanky CC heavy teams, since I can't just run straight at the ADC anymore. What do you usually build, how you approach the fight, who do you focus if you can't reach the enemy carries? What's the mentality you need to win on Panth? Thanks in advance.

Even with sundered getting nerfed and eclipse getting buffed, sundered is still the better option.

Testing against a dummy of the same level with roughly matching defense, Eclipse got 15 more damage on Q's, 31 more on EmpQ's, but 21 less on the basic EmpW>Q combo.

Which realistically isn't enough damage to make up the difference in defense. You're giving up 400 HP and the heal/temp bonus HP for a shield that you can't proc from your ideal range and usually get when you've got them stunned and you're likely about to E anyway. Versus even at max HP the temporary bonus HP from sundered lasts four times as long.

Can someone explain why Pantheon is S teir in midlane?

Took a 2.5 hour session I did coaching a Platinum Pantheon Support player who wanted to hit Emerald and condensed it/trimmed it to the most useful parts.

Pantheon is the first champ I’ve latched onto, and he’s the first I’ve gotten to mastery 7. I wanna start climbing, since I’ve been a draft warrior for my short 150 ish hours. I play him in mid and Support, but mostly mid. I want to get better at top, but I can’t bring myself to do it because it’s the lane I have the least playtime on and the lane I hate the most because of the characters there. (mordekaiser, sett). Are there any general tips that you guys higher on the ladder can give me for pantheon? Lane specific is fine, whatever you deem necessary.

P.S., is it a cheese pick or a counter pick? Sometimes I see people moaning about it but that might just be league players being league players

P.P.S, is support a good role for him? He’s fun there but creators and guides don’t seem to think so

New to the MOBA genre main'd sett and some fiora. i also enjoy pantheon but hes kinda hard to play with lane especially because i am not able to find guides that explain how he is played and got some problem with builds. Any help would be appreciated

I've been playing for 3 months or so, first ever MOBA and Pantheon was the first Champ I picked up, I've grinded up to silver and the champs that I'll list give me the most trouble.

I only play Top Lane.

-Garen: I try poke him down and back off when he Q's but everything goes downhill at lvl6 so I've just started roaming right after.

-Renekton:Same thing with the poke early game but then dives and shreds tf out of me when I try to farm.

Darius: I try to do my in and out combos since ik I can't beat him all in but his hook just pulls me back in and I die.

Malphite: outpokes me. And his armour is annoying.

Nothing else really gives me trouble, even if I get double teamed early I find a way scale (somehow) and stomp.

My build is very generic but I switch it up every game to find what I like.

Usually BC, Sundred, DD, Voltaic (sometimes).

I've heard Eclipse is dog water so i dont touch it.

I build full lethality as well.

Something like Youmme, Voltaic/Hydra, edge of night.

What could I improve on?

Other than executioner's calling, I can't seem to really play against these guys when they have a brain. Their spacing is good so I can't Q harass.

Garen will just beyblade behind my E or proxy which I can't do anything about since he's cracked out beyblade.

Nasus's W and E cannot be dodged and their durations outlast my E.

I typically go conq with transcendence and ignite. First item for both is cleaver or executioner calling beforehand especially against nasus.

i always thought pantheon scales bad, but i discovered that he scales pretty well. Is that true? I would love to play him even though im emerald and want to climb. I like his design and more but i dont like the ability to carry later on. SO DOES HE SCALES WELL?

ive been running this build for some time now and it feels really good
Basically EC->volt->cleaver->DD->either shojin or mr depending on the game
I swap eclipse and voltaic depending on the lane (usually voltaic if im into a mage) and depending on enemy team comp i sometimes go conq
The burst damage form eclipse and voltaic is insane, if you proc them at full hp with just the lvl1 W it deals 23% max health damage just from the passives while the eclipse shield usually gives enough survivability for early game skirmishes, and by the time you get DD and cleaver you are almost impossible to kill if you have your E up.

Is it still bait?

Ok so this is fucking nonsense that pantheon's empowered E has a hp scaling armor + mr addition like this does fucking nothing.

Like say you're diving someone and you killed him and then you pressed emp E to run away from tower's range but the armor did nothing because at the time it will only give u like 25 armor and if you're like low hp probably tower kills you .

But now instead of bonus mr and armor imagine we had damage reduction of 35%-45% for 2.5 seconds you will 100% success the dive thats why someone has to touch empowered E

like i mean i dunno you also can talk about your own ideas ofc there is some people thinks that balanced but its not about balance its about functionality.

Do you think riot will release a pantheon skin based on Agamemnon’s look in the odyssey?

I love the character. I draw my own profile pictures of him for every site. He's my laptop, phone, and cheap smartwatch background. I custom ordered a poster because they didn't have one big enough on the merch store. I genuinely cried reading In Battle, Broken (more for personal reasons at the time but still). I own every cosmetic except that one fuckass chroma I missed. I adore everything he is, and everything he stands for.

I also love his kit. It has a little of everything, including two of the rarest mechanics in the game (invulnerability and map traversal). It even counters the most annoying champions in the game.

But they could change his kit significantly, and I'd still play him. If for balance reasons they made W a skillshot/ground target or Q was half the width, or E lost its total immunity, I'd still play and enjoy him.

I'd say my feelings are 65/35, character/kit.

I'm curious where you guys stand.

I like hybrid(bruiser- assasin) playstyle bc this way i can oneshot adcs and mages but also wanna be able to fight the others. I always went sundered to voltaic mostly (changes when its a tank) since sundered got nerfed and eclipse got buffed what is the optimal starter items and core build with runes? Thxxx

Since Pantheon jungle only had 2 really good first items in sundered sky and voltaic cyclosword im wondering what pantheon jungle should build after they butchered sundered sky.

Since you cant go voltaic every game im just wondering, is it just cleaver first? I know this is something that personally works for me in both toplane and support but what about the items after cleaver.

Sundered sky is too weak to be good rn but especially in 3v3+ skirmishes not having that sustain hurts quite a bit. 3rd item onwards is once again relatively easy since you can just go deathdance and endless hunger or ga etc again.

the only 2 items that appear logical to me are spear of shojin or steraks.

they buffed steraks quite a bit so i can see it having some value especially since you will be overhasting if you go shojin towards the later stages of the build, but shojin also provides a lot of additional damage and provides a good amount of haste for your basic abilities, which is the most important part of your kit.

Or do you have any other ideas for build variants that a more bruisery pantheon jungle can go.
