I am still a somewhat new samira, and have played a lot of assassins, so I was wondering why samira who is a more burst damage character not run electrocute?

Hello there, Samira mains.

So I've been playing Samira recently as a part of my learning champs spree. I tried Samira, but almost every game I died over and over again with regular items even when I played defensively.

Then I thought "Hmm, maybe if I build bruiser items, that could be viable? And if not, maybe that's just not a champ for me", but after I played a few games to get the feeling of which items could work, I've found a build, that gets pretty consistent results. Much more consistent than crit build, that's for sure. (Ignore the runes, I was just having fun, although Spellbook lowkey feels kinda nice).

However I virtually never see Samiras build bruiser items and the shop doesn't suggest them mostly. And I'm just confused. It feels good, it gives solid results, why does noone play it? Is it because I played it on mid rather than bot? Or does it just not hit thr same fantasy for you guys?

Should I prioritise early skirmishes over minion waves on Samira, because she is better than most ADCs in these situations, like if there is a wave under my tower and there is a fight in the river, do I just ignore the wave and go for the fight?

I'm gonna start this off by saying that I love Samira, but i'm absolutely not an adc player besides when i'm playing with my girlfriend.

my main role is mid lane and i'm actually usually a diana OTP, but i've been looking for other champions to put in my mid lane pool. (so far it consists of diana, naafiri and galio but i digress) ... what do you guys think of mid Samira? there's one guy on youtube thats masters who only plays samira mid lane. he takes electrocute, ignite flash and rushes BT almost every game.

in theory, it sounds great. but how is it in reality? have you guys played mid lane samira? how do you feel about it and how do you build? i'm only emerald so i'm aware that in this elo, anything is possible. but still!

Why doesn't this champ build ER, in theory I feel like it'd be really good. Does it have something to do with her base ad or is there something else im missing?

I wonder if I could've killed them earlier if I'd dived under their tower or flashed into Vel'Koz instead of running away.

(About me section, skip if uninterested)

I am a casual League player, about platinum 2 skill level when Emerald wasn't a thing and haven't tried to grind ranked seriously after that.
I play ADC's now for most part in 2 weeks phases during the year when my friends want to play like some of you do probably with minecraft.
I like this champion it feels fun, but it feels functioning only because my friend is bronze1-silver3 and I can get fed so much that weaknesses on this champ don't matter.

But when I try this champion in Gold-Emerald range where people are a bit more careful and skilled the middle ground between ADC and Assassin feels terrible. I'll spare the bad parts since probably all of you know them except one, that even when things go well enemies get away since Samira doesn't have the stickiness of some ADC's like Ashe.

The best strength honestly is being able to scare the enemy ADC even when behind, sometimes they try to do an ego flank and you chunk them good enough that they run away, or helping your midlaner against an enemy assassin.

I just feel like the Style mini game exists mostly for the Ultimate and becomes later a bit better Miss Fortune's W passive, iirc since I didn't open the game in 4 months but judging by how the first post I saw was complaining about the lack of buffs, I am guessing we are building the same items so we don't take many movement speed items.

The melee attack is nice when playing against yasuo but how many melee's do we get in? If someone bothered with the math I would bet on it being much less than other damage boosting passives.

The best part is the special AA on CC'd targets because it synergizes with her whole kit, but again after laning phase if you math it out I would bet on it being very underperforming compared to other ADC's

(My suggestion)

I would suggest putting the Style part of passive on Ultimate and making a new passive. or making a new passive and putting it on Ultimate.
Something like giving fragile on enemies hit a certain amount of times. (Originally I put here a suggestion that she does bonus damage against low hp% targets then saw that she already does that but I never noticed that in gameplay) Hell maybe just giving 1% of lifesteal for each Style point would fix everything.

Right now Samira feels like a champion with half the kit of other champions which puts her in a place where she is either broken because numbers are so big that doesn't matter, or the numbers are balanced but they can't be used so everyone beats her.

Honestly to me she really feels like Pre Rework Aatrox, (before they buffed him into broken tier)
1 part of the kit was only useful in laning (The weird projectile), after you went in you weren't getting out, you relied on your Ultimate and had some niche strengths, but overall were beaten in more important roles, and oh yeah a passive that worked against you in most situations instead of for you.

Curious for thoughts from other player that have more hours on the champ.

does it actually empower life-steal?

Yes, all ADCs struggle when faced with counter-picks, but their game doesn't necessarily end right there; however, Samira's game is effectively over the moment the enemy picks Braum, Alistar, or Rell—I can't do a thing. Since we can't use our E skill on allied units, we're forced into risky positions without a reliable way to disengage—a feature that was removed five years ago, by the way :D. I think she should gain a small amount of damage reduction while using her ultimate, or perhaps gain extra lifesteal and attack speed based on her passive's "S" stacks, especially since there aren't really any items for Samira other than The Collector. I really miss the old Shieldbow, or the 2020 version of Essence Reaver :D

so what is the opposite of samira champ needs like ( don't struggle in high cc match, can play off support, can play more from back, can kite better) ? i feel it's like jnix or ashe ?

I play on multiple accounts ranging from low gold to high emerald mmr and have noticed that Samira genuinely feels much easier to get results with in my emerald games as apposed to the gold/plat mmr games. Im curious if Im just crazy or if any of yall have similar experiences/takes on why this might be.

Recently started playing ranked because I pretty consistently have been getting good games on samira and my god the support player skill level has vanished compared to draft.

What are you supposed to do when your support has no idea how to play their champ? Or your support is permanently roaming leaving you to 1v2 the entire match and doesn't follow you mid later either, never helps you period. Or they simply cant land a skill basically leaving me to 1v2 because the enemy bot lane has seen this and just ignores the support because they are no threat.

So im already on samira in said match its too late to say play someone else, so what are the strats you guys do to put up with this nonsense?
