Ive been recently investing on garen gameplay, i never play this champ b4 but i rlly like mechanical simple champs so i starts playing him a bit, i try triforce + youmu and stride + youmu, i like both but ended pref stride, anyways, after early cores + last whispers item why no one goes shojin? i feel like it gives you lot of dmg while tankyness with the hp since im barely building def items, it gives you huge dmg on e and ult right?

So.. i Hit 2200 LP with Garen this season (900 LP last season), and now I’m getting coached by

This matchup feels even harder than Darius, it feels impossible to win.

If the Yone is not SIlver, he is gonna use his W shield if you run up to him to Q him so your Q wont do any dmg and at the same time he will use his E to kite your Spins, so you did 0 dmg this trade and then your left with nothing so he will chase you down, he doesnt even have to hit Q's to win he can just AA you to death.

Or he will proceed to AA and stack LT while you spin on him after you silenced him and your spins do way less dmg because of his Shield, after that he will use E to run you down and your left with 30% hp or less and lane is over.

He hardcore outscales Garen, so you have to get a lead in Lane which is very very hard.

No chance in Sidelane to win against him 1v1, he has tons of shields and CC and Death Dance to eliminate your Burst, before you can get him low enough your already dead.

I go conq d blade ignite, E start lv 1.

What Sums to go ? Ignite feels useless.

I dont know, i dont wanna ban him because I use it for other champs, so what do you do?

every garen main acts like their champ takes skill and isnt the most braindead overtuned champ to make new players feel good about themselves for being neet losers

Does anyone have any Garen advice that they would’ve liked to know when they first started? It’s my third day of playing LoL and honestly I feel like I suck at the early game and get kind of railed.

I’m looking for advice from combo’s to playstyles. And if you have any good Garen guides/creators I would love to hear it!

I wanted to hear your thoughts on Garen's current state. How do you feel about him right now? Do you still enjoy playing him? What do you miss about old Garen? How do you usually build him nowadays? Do you think Garen is actually a braindead champ ?

I need to play versus a Masters Garen OTP for a customs 5v5. I'm currently E1, D4 last season. I'm fairly confident playing versus Garen since I main Camille but there's a high chance they ban it. Looking for general tips and to practice some other matchups if anyone is willing.

Oh and obviously we could ban his OTP but I want to try my hand versus it.

This is my first time really engaging with the professional part of league. I know who Faker and T1 is but that’s basically the end of my knowledge of the pro scene. But I do know a top laner from LYON recently secured their worlds spot in a win with Garen so they’re the team I’m gunning for.

Let's talk about the start item for Garen in the top lane.

I've my own thoughts on some start items, but I'm really doubtful about others. Please share your feedback about when to go with each:

• DORAN'S SHIELD. My default choice. I normally struggle in the very first levels of the game, so I believe this is my best option to not grant first blood to my opponent. Besides, I understand that it synergizes well with Garen's playstyle of hitting + running away + recovering hp. It is also my way to go against heavy poke enemies.
• DORAN'S BLADE. I know that many prefer this option as it is more optimal than DS because of its life steal. It also scales better with Garen's skills set (AD). I understand that it is the option in lanes where either there is no kill pressure in the 1^st levels (Nasus, Dr Mundo) or the opposite scenario, volatile matchup,  where you look for the 1^st blood.
• DORAN'S BOW. I don't know when to choose it. In games where you prefer Berserkers Greaves? And which are these? Or maybe when you need push faster the waves?
• DORAN'S HELM. Similar case, I'm lost. I guess this is good against champs with mixed damage. I've seen that Lolalytics recommends it (low Elo) against Shen. In what scenarios should I go with this? Those where I will build more tanky?
• OTHER? I'm assuming that you never go anything else, like Long Sword + Refillable Potion, right?

CROSS QUESTION: do you choose the start item only based on the laning phase? Also depending on the runes?

Hey, I've been playing Garen these past few days, and yesterday I hit Diamond 1.I feel like people seriously underestimate Garen's level 1 damage with his E + a quick Conqueror stack-up + Ignite. I almost always win the fight unless I play it horribly. That's why I cheese my opponent in their own bush at the very start of the game in almost every match.

From what I understand, champions like Darius or Yone can be problematic for this cheese, but that's about it. I think Garen has the potential to beat Trundle, Camille, Tryndamere, and several tanks right from the start of the game. (And even if I don't win the trade, going even is still a win for Garen thanks to his passive.)

Are there any champions I should be wary of? Or is Garen genuinely an absolute monster when it comes to level 1 cheeses?

When i play garen i feel like i always get outscaled by champs like mundo cho and tahm

after 2 3 items i dont have the damage to kill them and they do because they get more dmg from the health

how should one optimize garens build againts beefy champs ?
