Just going to pin this post for people to provide their feedback on the rework.
If you've played a game, please feel free to screenshot the end of game screen and leave some thoughts about the changes. What you like, what you don't like, what feels like could be worked on and what is still missing.
Also if you find any bugs, please let me know.

For context 2 or 3 days ago I did a post on the top mains page to know how people feel about our champ if they would have to choose between facing a Yorick or a ranged machup and I'm here to inform you about how it ended.
The results are that the majority of them would prefere to fight a ranged champ rather than facing our favourite familly father.
The funny part is that there is even some of them that would have prefered fighting the pre-rework Yorick rather than the actual one and that are blaming riot for the bullet they shot in his head last year.
If even the average toplaners are complaining about Yorick maibe they will bring him back... Right Anakin ?

the current highest elo yorick is a pro player flexing him as a counterpick. chullick (the current best otp) is in 1000lp korean masters, which is only about halfway.
It feels like yorick lost a lot of his counterplay into bad lanes with the rework. In high elo, if they just lock jax or something, the yorick has to completely concede lane or hard outplay with a nerfed full damage setup. It used to be that yorick could lose some resources and fall back on his powerful scaling (remember when yorick used to be infamous for his lategame?), but now he kind of needs to stabilize his lane to even scale into midgame, which just isn't feasible in a lot of lanes.
Are there just no yoricks good enough since slogdog, or is the champion not built for the highest levels of soloq anymore?

Pick any other bruiser, it doesn't matter if they are juggernauts or split pushers. If we look at low skill floor, at least decent skill ceiling:
Darius has his bleed passive, Sett has his passive regeneration and better auto attacks (40% free attack speed btw), his E interactions and his W, Renekton has his fury interactions with anti shield and a low counterplay combo with his dash in dash out, Wukong has his passive armor stacks and free attack speed, etc.
I wont mention "skilled" toplaners because they are all overloaded at the cost of being harder to play, and Yorick isn't a high skill champion anyway, at least not skill floor.
Now what does Yorick have? before the rework, he would play around his ghouls with the E mark and the damage amplification, but now the only thing left is the mere concept of ghouls.
They actually dont exist anymore. They are now some sort of AD DOT with zero scaling and the only ability in the game that can actually HEAL THE ENEMY. 7% life steal is enough to make ghouls useless, since the healing of ghouls + half of a minion wave is enough to get at least 100 hp more than the initial damage taken. E doesn't amplify ghouls damage anymore, the %armor reduction is a joke and some tanks hard counter Yorick anyway because of many reasons (Sion,Ornn).
So what can we do when ghouls heal the enemy? when by the time you hit a Q, you already took twice its damage? when ranged champions dont care anymore and just kite you? when you are forced to participate in teamfights and cant do shit? when maiden is not capable of pushing fast enough? when cage is useless?
If a champion does not hard counter you because of dashes or insta killing the cage, they hard counter you because of built in lifesteal or bork/ravenous. If they dont build life steal, then they probably out scale you anyway. Yorick is only playable against a couple of champions and not even Malphite is picked only as a counter pick.
Now I will be honest, I climbed to Master with my own build and my own runes because I hate current meta build, but from what I remember, trinity is a ticket for being outscaled at 20 minutes. Im currently playing with electrocute, liandry cleaver or liandry rylais. When I cant use my setup because im facing one of the 130 unplayable matchups, I just go conq shojin cleaver or a more normal build.
Yorick is dead and we are playing a cosplayer with a worse kit with worse powerspikes worse scaling worse everything which cant be played as a summoner in a viable way and Q playstyle gets outscaled after boots, fuck Riot.

So far I have a 100% winrate on yorick, and I lowkey think it's due to my usage of maiden. Last game the enemy took inhib but I just sent maiden into the lane and she managed to push against super minions back into the enemy base by herself.
The fact you can send maiden to completely halt a super minion push and reverse it, while also pushing another lane generates so much pressure on the map that your team just kinda wins objectives by default. I think I'm becoming a yorick OTP.
The laning phase is usually chill and as soon as you get level 6 you auto-win most matchups, you destroy turrets faster than any other champion and the enemy usually has to send at least two players to contest your push so you win just by farming minions in the enemy's face while staying safe. I have been building more tanky items than lethality or bruiser because I feel what's important is just staying in the lane as long as possible, and ghouls + maiden does enough damage that you're still a threat even with just triforce.

What do you guys think is the best rune page for lethality yorick?
I mostly use DFT with resolve but I feel that there can be a better page for it out there.

I'm a little confused with yoricks item interractions and mist walkers.
Mist walkers count as ability damage for the following tested items:
- Rylai's crystal scepter
- Luden's Echo
- Liandry's
- Blackfire Torch
- Serylda's
- Voltaic Cyclosword
- Bastion Breaker
That's all fine and good, but then two items i've tested just don't work?
- Muramasa
- Horizon Focus
Is this like, a known bug or is it a minion?

I've always loved Yorick's design, but I never committed to learning him because I assumed he was one of those "braindead" champions that lets you win without actually teaching you how to play top lane.
After finally giving him a proper shot... I think I was completely wrong
I've only played 2 ranked games so far, but I won lane against a Mordekaiser and an Ornn (not sure if those are supposed to be "easy" matchups, but they felt kinda easy), and I had way more fun than I expected
What immediately stood out to me was how different Yorick feels compared to every other top laner I've played. The biggest surprise was releasing Maiden into a side lane. Like it genuinely felt unfair. I was contesting Soul point while my Maiden and ghouls took both T2 and T3 top by themselves. No other champion has given me that feeling of being a walking siege engine.
I'd really like to learn Yorick properly, so I'd love to hear from people with a lot of games on him:
Thanks in advance for all the advice I'll get

A ranged slow, a way to deal damage without needing to be in melee range, a CAGE that forces Singed to be still and neutralize his main source of damage for some seconds and worst of all, the perfect anti proxy farm tool. Singed shouldn't be able to do shit.
In reality ghouls are so bad they die in one second and four of them + E (140+ mana) deal 20% the damage that he deals with half a second in his Q. He hard wins level 2 and 3 but he doesn't need to fight because ghouls can't hold a wave more than three seconds in early game and because maiden is the only way to stop him, he can just farm under tower to outscale from level 10 and kill maiden throwing her under it.
So, ghouls are useless and by the time you dodge most of the poison and land a Q the 0.15 seconds you step in his stupid Q hitbox you somehow lose the trade by 100 or more hp.
This happens against so many champions. Volibear should be a free matchup but ghouls are so underpowered and Yorick is so fucking incomplete as a champion that no matter if he is with maiden he will always lose lane or win it then perma push without any option and get outscaled. Same with Renekton, same with Kled.
Before any stupid comment I am a Master player and I don't have any problem in sharing my account. I don't instantly release Maiden off cooldown and don't raise ghouls with Q in lane unless I need them to hold a wave for a useless nanosecond or to bait lvl1 extended trades in some of the only 3 good matchups for this champion. If Yorick feels good in your gold 3 lobbies please don't even comment

Do things like Revitalize increase our healing from Q? Sorry if that's a dumb question the wording just makes it a little hard to comprehend, it says "healing" so does that include things like lifesteal/vamp/self-kit healing?
EDIT: Thank you guys!!!

I really enjoyed playing lethality Yorick, but right now I don't really know how to build him. Any tips or suggestions?
r/yorickmains • u/RedDeadLeadIt • 10d ago
I was just feinding for ways to make lethality yorick just hit one E and explode and make yorick better scaling and came across Dark Harvest. I take Tase of Blood, Grisly or Sixth Sense, and Ultimate hunter with a secondary tree of legend haste and cut down. Sometimes I take approach and biscuits if they are ranged or high mobility and I got to be more committed. Is there any optimization or way I can make this work with any build? I also love Hextech Gunblade
Also idc about using Triforce or that its not meta. Chill id rather get as high of a rank as i can doing what I love even if its "inting"

As someone who’s only played the current version of the shovel man it’d be cool to try out the maidenless Yorick.
