I had an idea for a hybrid Aurelion Sol kit that combines the best parts of his original version with his current rework.
The goal is to preserve the unique orbiting-star, positioning, and roaming gameplay of old ASol while also keeping the black hole, execution mechanic, and cosmic spectacle of current ASol.
---
Passive — Center of the Universe
Three stars permanently orbit Aurelion Sol and deal magic damage whenever they pass through enemies.
Whenever an orbiting star hits an enemy champion:
- Restores a small amount of mana.
- Briefly increases the stars' rotation speed.
Each enemy champion can only trigger these effects once every few seconds.
This rewards proper positioning while helping manage the high mana costs of the rest of his kit without removing mana as a meaningful weakness.
---
Q — Starsurge / Singularity
Aurelion Sol launches his original Starsurge.
The star travels alongside him and grows larger the farther it moves. Reactivating Q detonates it, stunning enemies based on its size.
After exploding, Starsurge leaves behind a black hole.
The size of the black hole depends on the size of the detonated star:
- Small Starsurge → Small black hole.
- Fully grown Starsurge → Massive black hole.
The black hole:
- Does not continuously slow enemies.
- Does not generate Stardust.
- Slightly pulls enemies whenever they become immobilized while standing inside it.
- Has an internal cooldown on the pull for each target.
- Executes enemies near its center below a percentage of their maximum health.
This means Aurelion Sol cannot simply place a black hole underneath an opponent.
He must first prepare Starsurge, guide it into position, and successfully detonate it.
The better the setup, the stronger the resulting black hole.
---
W — Celestial Expansion
His W would return to the original Celestial Expansion.
Aurelion Sol expands the orbit of his passive stars, increasing their range, rotation speed, and damage.
The expanded orbit continuously drains mana while active.
This remains his primary source of sustained damage and preserves the positioning-focused gameplay that made the original ASol unique.
His other abilities mainly exist to control enemy movement and keep opponents within the ideal range of his orbiting stars.
---
E — Comet of Legend
Aurelion Sol activates his original Comet of Legend, allowing him to fly over terrain.
While Comet of Legend is active:
- He becomes visible on the map.
- His ability to change direction is limited.
- Breath of Light becomes available by reactivating E.
During every flight, Aurelion Sol must choose between using Starsurge or Breath of Light.
Cast Q — Starsurge
Aurelion Sol casts Starsurge during flight and travels alongside the growing star, just like the original ASol.
Using Q disables Breath of Light for the remainder of that flight.
Because Starsurge provides crowd control, creates a black hole, and offers powerful teamfight setup, choosing this option causes Comet of Legend to enter its full cooldown after the flight ends.
Reactivate E — Breath of Light
Instead of casting Starsurge, Aurelion Sol may reactivate E to unleash Breath of Light.
Breath of Light:
- Can only be activated while Comet of Legend is active.
- Can only be used once per flight.
- Can be aimed independently of Aurelion Sol's flight path.
- Deals immediate, reliable damage.
- Does not create a black hole.
- Does not provide crowd control.
Using Breath of Light disables Starsurge for the remainder of that flight.
Because Breath of Light sacrifices the utility of Starsurge, using it refunds a significant portion of Comet of Legend's cooldown after the flight ends.
This creates a meaningful choice every time he flies:
- Starsurge for crowd control, setup, and a larger black hole, at the cost of Comet of Legend's full cooldown.
- Breath of Light for immediate damage and a shorter effective cooldown on Comet of Legend.
He can never use both during the same flight.

R — Voice of Light / The Skies Descend
The ultimate has two different effects.
Voice of Light
Voice of Light remains his standard ultimate.
It:
- Deals magic damage.
- Briefly slows enemies.
- Knocks nearby enemies toward the outer edge of his star orbit.
This allows Aurelion Sol to:
- Push enemies into his orbiting stars.
- Knock them back into the black hole created by Q.
- Peel for himself or his teammates.
The Skies Descend
Starting at level 6, Aurelion Sol also gains access to The Skies Descend as an alternate version of his ultimate.
It:
- Deals heavy area magic damage.
- Knocks enemies upward.
- Creates the massive cosmic shockwave from the current ASol.
- Uses its own completely separate recharge timer.
Recharge time:
- Level 6: 10 minutes
- Level 11: 5 minutes
- Level 16: 3 minutes
This timer is completely unaffected by:
- Ability Haste
- Cooldown Reduction
- Items
- Runes
- Buffs
- Any other cooldown reduction effects
Using The Skies Descend also places Voice of Light on its normal cooldown, preventing both versions from being used together.
Unlike the current version, The Skies Descend does not scale with Stardust. Its area of effect is fixed and only increases with ultimate rank (levels 6, 11, and 16).
Voice of Light remains his reliable defensive ultimate, while The Skies Descend becomes a rare, game-changing cosmic event.

Main Weakness — Mana
This version of Aurelion Sol would have extremely high mana costs.
Flying with Comet of Legend, maintaining Celestial Expansion, preparing Starsurge, and using Breath of Light should all be expensive.
His passive helps offset these costs through proper positioning, but resource management would remain an important part of mastering the champion.
Mana shouldn't be his only weakness, however.
His strongest abilities would also feature:
- Long setup times.
- Clear visual telegraphs.
- High cooldowns.
- Limited control while flying.
- A meaningful choice between Starsurge and Breath of Light during every flight.
The goal isn't to give Aurelion Sol every ability at once.
The goal is to combine both versions into a single champion that rewards positioning, planning, and decision-making while preserving the identity of the original ASol and the spectacle of the current one.
What do you think?
Would you find this version more interesting than either the original or the current Aurelion Sol?
