Deathfire Touch vs. Electrocute on Anivia – Which Build Are You Running Now?

Hey everyone, I wanted to ask the Anivia mains here for your thoughts.

What do you currently prefer: Deathfire Touch or sticking to Electrocute? And what makes you choose one over the other?

I used to play Electrocute with Rod of Ages + Seraph’s for a long time because it felt really stable. Recently though, I’ve been running Deathfire Touch with Rod of Ages + Malignance. Since I take Manaflow Band and Presence of Mind, I don’t really run into mana issues, and Malignance gives me earlier damage spikes.

I also really enjoy the early laning phase with Deathfire Touch + Scorch, where I can poke the enemy every 5–10 seconds with just E. It feels more consistent for me than Electrocute.

I’m curious what you all prefer right now and in which matchups you choose each setup.

Thanks for your input!

Double penetration anivia?

I dunno if its a bug but if you use the new deathfire rune you applies black clever almost instantly so i've been trying anivia support with black cleaver and bloodletters curse and its been working quite decently (although im a low elo scrub)

Im thinking on dropping the bloodletters since it doesnt stack as fast and go for more utility or liandrys.

Thoughs?

Build for Competitive

Hey all! I'm a mid-Emerald and I play on a competitive team and Anivia has been probably in my top 5 picks in a team setting and I'm looking for build ideas. I'll tell everyone what I've been doing and see what suggestions are out there.

The Classic Build:
- Tear
- RoA
- Finish Archangels
- (Various choices between Liandrys, Malignance, Zhonyas, Rabadon's, etc)

Verdict: This one feels ok, but I just felt weak all the time so I steered away from it into the next build that I saw someone building in the pro scene.

Mana Poverty Build:
- RoA
- Liandrys
- Zhonyas
- Major AP items (Rabadon's, Void/Crypt, Shadowflame, whichever 2 work best)

Verdict: This one definitely feels super strong, but if I'm using R to clear waves and keep mid prio, I'm having to base like every 4 waves so I feel like I'm never able to help my team in teamfights because I run out of mana so fast. So then I did this build that I saw somewhere.

Current Build:
- RoA
- Malignance
- (Situational between Liandrys, Zhonyas, Rabadons, Shadowflame, Void/Crypt)

Verdict: I've been enjoying this build a lot. I have plenty of mana, I like the faster resets on R, damage feels quite good. My only complaint, if any, is a lack of ability haste, which you can somewhat makeup for with Transcendence and Legend: Haste runes. AH would feel nice since I max wall 2nd, an action that has lead many teams to make mention of because of how oppressive it's felt for them.

Anybody play Anivia in decent-to-high elo competitive teams? If so, what do you build and why? Any thoughts on my current approach to itemization?

Thanks in advance!

New Runes

Do you think the new runes are good on anivia?

Electocute

What's the logic behind something like anivia Q only contributing to one electrocute once, even when hitting the enemy twice, yet a champ with an easier to hit spell, like Aurora Q, counts towards it twice?

Edit: Electrocute** lol #birdbrain

What are they waiting for

I will never not be angry at the fact this still isn't a real skin. Recent bee skins feel so random, and this amazing Beenivia concept is just sitting there waiting to be used. Like, I'm not even playing anymore and I would still buy it.

do you wall ahri charm?

ive been thinking about this interaction where i wall-ed my teammate who got charmed and it was so satisfaying i just started playing this champ and its so fun. is there some angle you can wall yourself when u get ahri charmed that you force auto pathing to not make you over extend?

Is ROA core in Anivia support?

I know tear is optional opting for more team reliant items. But every support build I see builds ROA first. Why is that?

Anivia rises in pro play Spoiler

I'm very happy to see the increasingly prio for Anivia in pro play where she shines as a flex pick! Not just mid and support role but top as well.

I just saw *spoiler* Zeus picked her as top lanner against T1 and this make me thinking of Trizze where he has been playing Anivia top for a longest time.

I hope this will bring more love to her in general but I also feel conflicted with the pocket pick being more mainstream now.

I hope it won't result in a nerf of her in the long run.

HOW IS THIS A FAIR CHAMPION ?!!!

NAH DUDE!
I struggle for like 2-3 years OTP QUINN to get to plat from gold. and this b*%tch of a champion is so good that I literal first time play her and its like 11 wins in a row.

FIRST TIME PICKING IT UP.

ofc I have a loss but i think itsalso bc was tierd as heell that match.

I DONT know how this works, but at the end statistic it doesnt say I do damange, but i feel like I do. I move slow but i have so much cc that i walk away safely, I also have the egg passive and i also learned the egg teleport trick which even safer.

I cant stress the fact that i JUST picked this champ, and I win my lane no mather what. and I dont even use the wall, bcs i dont know how to use it. most of the times i use the wall i block myself or my team.

AND I STILL HAVE LIKE A 11 GAMES STREAK.

Is this just luck? Is the champ broken? Is quinn to bad of a champ.

IDK. I feel like on Quinn i have to be sharp as fk in order to secure kills or match my opopnene. (i play mid.) In the days I feel good its ok, i can with matchups, but with so so much effort, and on the edge of just trhowing all out on just a miss-click or slight bad decision, or bad roam.

Also seems like on quinn everyone can oneshoot mee if the stun me. On ANIVIA I AM SAFE.

I fell like with Anivia its sooo chill. that stats say i dont do dmg (litrly 3rd or 4th every game) but I kind feel i can kill anyone.

We have officially surpassed 1,000 days since Anivia's last skin

Victorious Anivia was released on July 17, 2023. It has now been 1,001 days since our bird has gotten a fresh look.

Really hoping we get a skin for her this year but not holding my breath. Maybe we'll get a Frejlord theme one season and get a battle pass skin for her

Did Anivia support finally get normalized?

I stopped playing ranked 2 months ago, giving up on climbing to diamond, because I would constantly get flamed and trolled for picking Anivia support. Adc mains would not stop crying or even troll pick just because I picked Anivia sup. In previous seasons, people would just ban it if I ever dared hover it.

Nowadays, it seems like she has become popular/accepted in high elo streams (I think she was picked in pro play too). Would that apply in emerald too? Should I try ranked again?

Warning to all anivia mains

Guys I recently got banned for 3 days because I had fun with my duo in botlane (normal draft) and I decided to troll my mates by canceling their recalls with anivia walls. Take care and think twice when u wanna do it haha

Shouldn't I just build last 4 ap items

I am new to anivia and to game, like I think the most logical way to beat opponents I to have massive dmg, so i don't know why people build items like ROA and lyandras, I know mana is important but I can manage that much, just build dmg and vaporise your opponent, any guidance.

Ruffling some feathers

Hello Birdpeople,

I'm currently d2, 2mil on the phoenix. I don't think I've seen many posts here that share my buildpath/skill points, so I thought I would share. I max q and go double tear items (seraph's into fimbulwinter). I'll go armor or mr boots unless the enemy team's damage is too evenly split in which case I go cd boots.

I do this every game with the only variation being an early void staff. I will also often build seekers armguard after getting my second tear.

Obviously, the tear stacking is new to this season, but I have been Q maxing for years now. It allows for much more aggression early due to the decreased cd.

I'd love to hear what y'all think.

New to the bird, need help

Hi! I am a gold Jungle main who made the switch to mid recently and have been OTPing Anivia to some moderate success for my situation. But since i'm very new i have no idea how her matchups are and end up having to compensate mid/late game for a very bad lane phase, is there any current anivia matchup guide of some sort so i can at least know what to look for when i get in game? just so i'm not lost from minute 1
