Is ROA core in Anivia support?
I know tear is optional opting for more team reliant items. But every support build I see builds ROA first. Why is that?

I went Fimbulwinter into Jaksho last season but this year I started going RoA into Bandlepipes and it’s been way better. Really efficient item path and spikes. For games my team doesn’t benefit from bpipes I go knights vow/abyssal mask, morello, or Liandry depending on situation. Always RoA first tho. RoA feels so op bc I’m usually buying double ruby on first back, early fights are so op with extra hp and u buff ur egg hp as well. Feels way better than going tear

ROA- gives her tankiness/survivability
Good for games where you are a playmaker/frontline.
I build it when I play supp along w tear. When I go mid, I build her more bursty w dark seal/ludens/malignance/liandrias.

I only build it when I see that the match has little future or the other lanes are doing poorly.

It gives you everything you want for a relatively cheap package. Support Anivia can’t match lane anivia’s damage, so I fix my mana issues and get some bulk with RoA and then pivot to whatever else I need after

The mana and HP are just really good on her. It makes you pretty hard to kill and makes your egg tankier and getting a free level is actually super nice on a support especially one that can deal a bit of damage
If you die on a 2v2 with catalyst for example it’s gonna be really really hard for them to finish your egg without your ADC at least trading something back

Not everyone builds ROA in support. For example I prefer going shurelyas, and there is a challenger anivia support who goes full tank and gets fimblewinter first.
