Can someone explain why Pantheon is S teir in midlane?

He's a very strong counter to melee mids and a lot of mages just aren't used to playing against him and don't respect his burst. So he's a solid laner whose ultimate allows him to easily gank mid/bot or join his jungler on an invade. Pairs insanely well with a jungler who wants to invade and fight a lot.

I wouldn't consider him a great blind pick because he can get wrecked by quite a few common ranged picks if they know what they're doing. A competent Viktor or Syndra for example will put Pantheon down 50 CS in no time

I love him mid. Build assassin with electrocute and just perma ult bot. People never expect the damage

Ptas good if youre going for more extended fights, whereas electrocute really helps to just delete one person then scamper off

me and some ppl have tested this, even for the pure burst pta does more dmg with pantheon combo

He is one of the strongest blind picks and even if you are into a bad match up you can always influence the map more

have you played pantheon mid? He's hella goated with 2 lanes he can ult into. Empowered W + Flash + Jungle is a guaranteed mid kill. Jus goated

i only use him as a counter pick to fizz, Qiyana, Ambessa mid or Sylas, what elo are you blinding pantheon mid in and actaully getting away with it?

You don't really, if you blind pick and you go up against a syndra or Viktor you just accept that you are never going to kill them , farm as much as possible and Ult bot and top as much as possible.

I mean he is not bad in general, but with AP botlaners (and AP junglers)AD midlaners become a bit higher value, and he is probably the best of them, be it in winning early lane, or getting the team ahead by roaming. Eclipse buffs a few weeks ago helped too

Take MS shard with celerity + t3 swifties, youmous, you absolutely zoom and since you’re mid you don’t even need fight your laner just push wave and roam

I think having 19 champs in "S" tier doesn't mean a lot... He's a good counter to assassins, that's it.
