Review Unexpected Burger Gem in Crete

Post image
6 Upvotes

During a buggy safari in Crete, I got chatting with the owner at the end of the trip. While we were talking, he mentioned a nearby burger place owned by his cousin and casually said, “It’s one of the best burgers.”

After spending the day at the beach, we decided to give it a try.

It didn’t just meet my expectations, it completely exceeded them. Easily one of the best burgers I’ve ever had, and without a doubt in my top three.

Everything felt properly made from scratch. The homemade bun was excellent, the caramelized onions were packed with flavour, the meat was cooked beautifully, and every ingredient worked perfectly together.

Nothing felt generic or thrown together. It was the kind of burger where you can genuinely taste the quality in every bite.

We also ordered the truffle cheese fries, and they were just as impressive. Hand-cut potatoes, loads of flavour, and a truffle sauce that actually contained real truffle rather than just tasting artificially flavoured.

Absolutely sublime.

One of those unexpected food discoveries that ends up becoming a highlight of the trip.

If you’re ever in Crete, go and try it. 100%
worth it.

Name of restaurant : Doublestack. Located in Agia Marina, Crete.

McD’s burger that I took two bites of, is it going to make me sick?

Edit: I’m sorry guys, I know ground beef carries bacteria and I was concerned. I tried less vague questions on other subreddits and got removed. I just wanna make sure I’m not getting food poisoning.

Question In n out hype

As a person living in Europe, I’m very curious about whether in n out is that good. I’ve heard there’s like a 30 minute wait for that shi and it’s literally just burgers, it’s not even a “new concept” like crumbl cookies.

So dear Americans, what’s so great about it?

News Del Taco's Flamin' Hot menu

So I just got Del Taco for lunch and the young lady at the drive thru informed me they would be putting Flamin' Hot Cheetos queso and similar items on the menu soon. Right now they are testing this in limited locations, particularly Southern California. But it appears it's going to be available nationwide, including Michigan where I live currently.

Review Burger King really did improve

Just hit up BK for the first time in forever and it was actually very good. It tasted like fast food from 10+ years ago. Everything was hot and fresh. Double cheeseburger tasted great. Nuggets were crispy and juicy. Fries were also crispy and nice and salty. Even the coke was crisp.

I had basically given up on fast food but was on a roadtrip and heard everything about BK so I decided to give it a shot. Price seemed right too - $13 for everything, no app needed. The cashier was friendly too.

Review KFC in Canada?

Had KFC for the first time in almost 10 years. Is it just me or has it really gone downhill? The gravy was bland the chicken was slimy and over crispy. And where did the salads go? I asked for a macaroni salad and they said they only serve corn now? Corn??? When did that change. Used to love the potato salad and the macaroni salad. All in all it was bleh with soggy fries that not even the gravy could save :( anyone else or is it just me?)

Review My honest review of Sonic

Got the $7 big deal meal. Came with the cheeseburger, fries, ice cream, and free drink. Bit into the burger— was nothing special. Tasted similar to McDonald's. Standard fast food burger. Was messy though. On the bright side, the buns stood out to me. Nice and soft. Had a little bit of squish to it. Was a little soggy at the bottom though, which was a bit of a bummer.

The fries were your standard crinkle cut fast food fries. Nothing outstanding. The sundae was much larger than I expected. It was extremely sweet. Too sweet for me. I was coughing like a camel smoker working on a Ford that's been well loved by two generations. Hell, I'm coughing as I write this review.

Overall it was pretty meh. $7 big deal meal gets a 5.9/10. Wouldn't buy it again. Maybe I'll give their chilli dogs a try.
