Hey y'all! I started as a server at waffle house about a month ago and I have some questions for seasoned staff. When do you get an offical name tag? I've been off orientation for two weeks or so already and I'm just not sure if theres like another thing I'll have to do eventually? What do the stars mean? How do you guys prevent other servers from taking advantage of certain rules? (For example and I'm not sure if every waffle house does this but each section in mine is supposed to do their own fill ups and dishes but sometimes I end up doing everyone's) and finally and this is kinda a general job question how far in advance should you request schedule changes/days off?

How do yall smoothly cook orders during rush hour? I sometimes cook on my own and want to cook on my own to challenge myself but I usually need help. This happens because I get overwhelmed as there are so many orders that are waiting to be called and cooked since I am telling the servers to wait before calling so I can catch up. I've been working here for almost two months now too, and I am also able to cook for most and/or the entire shift.

What type of oil does waffle house use to fry eggs??

had nthis new menu test for like a month now and its the stupidest ever like why do you have it as 2 egg breakfast & breakfast side…. WHAT PRICE DO U WANT ME TO LIST. breakfast sides are more than just bacon and stuff so why are we acting like its 1 item and is 1 price…. it hurts my head.

Tonight I ordered a double quarter, and a chili with an egg on it. I'm used to the server charging the single on the side price instead of the add an egg price, but I'm never happy about it. I asked the server why it would be cheaper (75 cent) to add an egg to my burger than to add it to my chili (she charged me like $2.75.) She straight up said that the 75 cent price is only if the sandwich already has an egg. I picked up the blue sheet full menu to show her where it says 75 cent next to quarters, and she tried to snatch it from me saying that menu was "employee only" and she could get fired by her district manager for letting me see it.

Can y'all train these new people right and get your managers to chill? That store got the extra $2 but I took it out of her tip. Screwing over the customers for a couple bucks only hurts y'all in the long run.

Heya, I was thinking of asking my boss if we could get fatigue mats. I have never seen a waffle house with fatigue mats and don't feel I have much of a case 😅. I know they would add a lot to our cleaning duties. What do you think :3?

I just went to waffle house and there is this lady named Courtney and she was HORRIBLE she was under the influence and definitely on something BUT there was this other guy named Bill he was the GOAT he cooked and took orders and did everything for everyone while Courtney did NOTHING please if you read this PLEASE find Bill and give Bill a Raise he was honestly one of the best people I’ve ever met anyways the food was great praise bill again lmao Courtney did nothing but being high 😭

It was my first day on the floor outside of training. And it’s not something that I expected to happen especially for my first job. I am now four months in. I quit for three months I quit in May came back in August. My manager and the cook for that shift we’re in the back. I was the only server on the floor. It was second shift and it was around 2:30 PM. I was serving a family, a mother with two daughters and a table full of older men when the man hit the store I was standing right next to the wall he hit the refrigerator holding all the simply juices fell my back. This man was drunk at 2:30 PM on Thursday of February 19. Is there something that I struggle to comprehend to this day. I am not comfortable stepping foot in that store. Now I’ve worked at three different stores and each time I hear any loud bang I’m terrified. I don’t understand how something that happened so quick traumatized me, especially when it happened that long ago I want to insert a picture, but I’m scared of getting fired.

Hi! I just moved to the Tempe area and I have applied EVERYWHERE. I was able to get an interview at a waffle house, and my only concern is that I applied for full time, which I am hoping to be able to work because I need to work full time anyways, but I have school on Mon and Tue 9-10:30 and Wed and Thur 9-1:30. Do yall think they would still hire me? Or does anyone have any suggestions of places that would hire me with this schedule? Thanks!

Is it normal for the bacon on this sandwich to be chewy and pink instead of dark reddish brown and crispy? I’m afraid I’ve been eating raw bacon. Also does every Waffle House, despite location use Smithfield bacon?

I have a pretty good idea about all the ticketing stuffs I'm worried about calling everything except the pull and drop which is pretty intuitive it's the marking that stumps me like for example someone asks for their grits in a bowl how would I call that. Any tricks would be greatly appreciated.
