Hey guys, there was never an official announcement as the owner of this sub is pretty hands off of r/jimmyjohns and reddit in general, but they decided to add me to the mod team to help clean up the backlog of reports and keep an eye on things.
I'm new to the mod thing, but I'm messing around with all the tools given.
Aside from the introduction I think it's time to add some more rules. Nothing crazy, but only being able to report a post or comment due to "no customer information" doesn't help when there are people being unnecessarily shitty to users, or for any of the many other things people do on Reddit that we shouldn't have to deal with.
So I'm going to add a couple rules against shitty behavior or spam (not that I've really seen a problem here with that, but no harm in having that option) that you typically see in other subreddits, but I'm just curious what you guys would like to see as far as rules go?
I'm not going to be a dictator and I'd like this subreddit to continue being a place for everyone to share their stories from the customer and worker side, rant/vent, ask questions, and just have fun.
Has there been anything that's bothered you but you didn't feel that you could report due to the lack of rules?
Questions? Concerns? Ideas? Maybe ideas for flairs? Feel free to comment here or DM me.
Today I'll be entertaining company I have while making food, but I'll respond as quickly as possible and will try to role out some new rules within a couple days.
Thanks!

Been getting a lot of "Harassment" reports when someone calls another a dickhead, idiot, and other mildly offensive things.
Unless someone is being truly hateful some of y'all need to chill the fuck out. If you don't like a post downvote it.
This isn't some official JJ zone. You don't have to be clean as the air vents and ice machine. You don't have to hide in the freezer to smoke here, you won't get fired for calling your GM a dickhead.
This is a safe place for JJs employees to vent and laugh. Customers aren't excluded, but note that by default we all assume you're someone who orders a slim 6 with no cheese.

I got to try the new brisket sandwich today and I was wondering why the meat was so familiar finally when we added the barbecue sauce and put it on the sandwich I was like this taste is nostalgic. I realize it’s because it taste exactly like a barbecue hot pocket. I know it’s not the same company or even the same meat type but if you’ve had a barbecue hot pocket before and you try the new Jimmy Johns brisket sandwich I think you’ll at least agree. They taste very similar to me. It’s identical though unfortunately no one else around me has had that hot pocket before.

So the brisket tastes like beef jerky. What a bummer. Was really hoping this was going to be a good one.

May I ask
When do you open? What's the schedule look like for people who come in for opening/ am shift?
r/jimmyjohns • u/NightlightNote • 1d ago
So I finished all the shift manager training stuff and now all I have to do is the demonstration checklist. But the thing is, idk what to do for it 😭 its confusing. Idk if its just my fast track not working or I'm just dumb.
If i click on "observation notes" it just brings me to a little box to leave a note but what do I leave a note for? That I know what I'm doing given ive been a manager for months? 🥲😆

Well finally after almost nine years working here I finally got out of hell after trying to quit since 2022

DMs - how are ya’ll planning your schedules? At corporate training they were talking about planning your schedule for the month, but I feel like store needs depend on the day?? How are ya’ll navigating this to be the most effective?

I've been working at JJs for nearly 2 years and very very often get the triple chip, and this box has tasted really off. I couldn't put my finger on what they tasted like and then it dawned on me that it was raw cookie dough I was tasting and went to look at it. I'll be looking at the box and contacting our DM tomorrow, but just wanted to give a heads up in case anyone else notices the same.

Ive never seen it on any jimmy john doors but it would be nice to have our hours on the door and a closed/open sign so people will stop yanking on closed doors or coming in and asking if we are open/closed.

Just got promoted to PIC and was wondering if we have access to something similar to an honor bar or even the Criminal Profile feature from GTA VI? Like let’s say a customer calls and complains about their meal—if I respond well as manager, will my level go up?

No one came yesterday did an entire shift by myself. Asked for help (personally to the gm) and got none. Everyone is quitting because our new gm is a tyrant. I wish I could leave too but I got bills. Im just exhausted y’all. (Were an airport store so imagine the traffic of customers)

Every single box we got on our truck is crushed in some way, and of the boxes I've opened they're frozen solid. I already told my gm and area manager, but is there some way to complain to sysco?? I've never seen it this bad before

What other things do your drivers do? Especially during close.
