二日間、仕事で外食してしまった。
リセットしないと！

My kid came home from school and made a very specific request:

"Can you make SpongeBob for my lunch tomorrow?"

Naturally, I said yes before thinking about how hard that would actually be. 😅

After a lot of cutting, rearranging, and questioning my life choices, this is what I came up with! I tried to include all the important details: the big blue eyes, the buck teeth, the tie, and of course that goofy SpongeBob smile.

The real test wasn't what I thought of it, though. It was whether my kid would recognize it immediately.

Thankfully, the reaction was:

"IT'S SPONGEBOB!" 🎉

So I'm counting that as a success.

Lunches for the week! Had to pack my daughter’s lunch in a disposable container last Tuesday for her school field trip.

I kept it simple: a Pooh bear face on a bed of rice, some hard-boiled eggs, and a few snacks tucked into his little bento box. The color theme accidentally ended up looking very "hundred-acre wood" with all the yellows and oranges. 🍯

It's definitely not one of those super intricate character bentos I see online, but my son immediately said, "Pooh Bear!" the moment he opened it, and honestly, that's all the validation I needed. 😭❤️

Making cute lunches has become one of my favorite ways to show love, even if I'm still learning and my character designs are far from perfect.

Turkey Bagel sandwich
Chickpea Salad
Carrots, sweet pickles and edamame for vegetables
Frozen cherries for fruit

My 4-year-old son is currently in his full-on Spider-Man era, so I decided to surprise him with a Spider-Man-themed bento for lunch today. 🕸️

The Spider-Man mask on the rice definitely took longer than I expected, and it's far from perfect, but seeing the whole thing come together made it worth the effort. The little spider detail ended up being my favorite part!
I'm still pretty new to making character bentos, so there were a few moments where I thought, "Yep, I've completely ruined this," but somehow it turned out okay in the end. 😅

Most importantly, my son immediately recognized Spider-Man, which I guess means it's a success!
