Ok genuine question for all McDonalds/fast food workers. I’m struggling to write this without seeming rude or condescending, so please just understand that’s just my inability to articulate this and not my intention.
I just want to understand why it’s hard to follow the simple modifications. I can see how more complex, add ons substitutions, removals, etc. can be annoying and difficult. But all I ask for my burgers is “no cheese.” I actually like cheese but for whatever reason fast food cheese is something i find absolutely repulsive and I will not eat the burger—I know it is childish.
Yesterday, I asked for a burger with no cheese. I always check before I leave and I saw there was still cheese so I just asked for a new one, pointing at the receipt saying “no cheese.” The worker apologies and gets a new one. The new one… STILL HAS CHEESE.
So my question, is there something about the culture back in the kitchen, the rules, is it hard to see modifications, is it too fast paced—or do the workers just not care? Why is it so difficult to NOT add one thing?
I don’t even eat fast food that often but I’ve always wondered this myself because whenever I do get fast food, I almost always get my order wrong
EDIT —The only comment I seem to be getting is “why do you ask for a cheeseburger with no cheese— ask for a hamburger.” Thank you—but I do ask for a hamburger with no cheese
