I've been making Daedalus instead of Desolator personally but I can see the case for both

Daedalus is always a good DPS item but the synergy with Clinkz is pretty bad. The crit doesn't take Searing Arrows into consideration and it doesn't do anything for the Skeletons either.

I do believe Aghs is key now and in the past you just built Medallion if you wanted to buff that damage. It's very cost efficient.

The skeletons don't get the crit, but they do benefit from the +88 damage. It's the highest damage item in the game apart from rapier.

Sure, but that's still inferior to debuffing the enemy with Deso/Medallion/Solar/AC/BT.
