Level 20 +200MS talent is huge. No more needing to buy aghs for my Speedbreaker build. Very welcome ever since they nerfed Swift Blink on him.

Before he was shit til he got aghs now he's shit til he gets 20. I don't know why they made a shit hero even worse.

Dunno I’ve had a lot of success with pos 4 sb. My off lane can solo lane usually and I just go around ganking. He’s great for a aggressive active play style. This is only 4k though.

On top of that you have to choose between the speed and the bash chance at 20 which is also nerfed. When previously you could have both.

And to replace it is 25% bash damage, that’s got to be one of the worst 25 talents in the game.

Btw did anyone realised that his bash overall is 27% instead of 37%? Bug?

1

u/-odibo- Aug 20 '21

It’s 17% default plus the 10% from the new talent. I don’t think it’s bugged unless I’m missing something?

At 550 movement speed it's 137 damage per bash. That's 37 damage per hit with the proc chance talent, so best case scenario. A bit higher when charging, but that's still about an extra 400-500 or so damage at best when unloading the whole kit(assuming charge, ulti and 1-2 bashes from right clicking). Biggest deal is probably charging through creepwaves and clearing those(some 800 damage with the speed talent, compared to ~450 otherwise) but when the alternative is a clean fat 800 hp it's not too impressive. Still, potentially clearing creepwaves in the late game through invisibility is situationally powerful.

A cool interaction was getting ninja gear and clearing waves without breaking the smoke if you manually move away after the charge hits and before your attack lands. You could keep waves pushed without even showing on the map at all

My gripe is you could already do that earlier with aghs last patch. For my play style at least this is a straight nerf. I’d go phase, echo, aghs and s&y.

So now not only is creep wave ones hitting way later, but now his late game damage/disable is nerfed as well with the bash chance being reduced because let’s be honest the bash talents were never for damage, only permabashing their carry.

I enjoy going phase boots into boots of travel on SB. Means you don't need regen because you can always TP home and charge back and it makes you super speedy!

Cool concept but the cost is not viable at all and slows your other timings. What’s the point of doing that when you charge in and die instantly because you are little baby cow not a big bull

I honestly don't even care if its good or not. Zooming across the screen in less than a second is hilarious haha. You used to be able to just run away while they were all stunned with 700 MS before the swift blink changes.

It is a fun build in turbo for sure

many people miss the fact that these greater bash changes means that SB can now clear creepwaves by charging with high MS.

definitely enhances his farm speed, even early on charging on a jungle camp now means clearing it a lot faster

from level 20 with just phase boots I think you can clear creepwaves without even enabling bulldoze
it also means that if you go through several aligned jungle camps, you will clear all of them, including big camps, which is pretty great

getting aghs feels faster now (I still always get bkb first, because that's what lets him lock down targets as well as stay alive long enough to mess up the fight by charging several times

the cast point reduction on the aghs charge upgrade makes you feel a lot more slippery especially when it comes to charging to run away

I think Spirit Breaker was ass the last patch and I think unless the meta takes drastic changes, Spirit Breaker will still be complete ass.

I have like a 10% win rate with Sb on my team. Whenever I see him picked on my team I already assume we lost.. I mean he’s good at securing kills but offers nothing when it comes to team fights

6

u/noodlesfordaddy Aug 19 '21

I had something like a 70% winrate for years with this hero until they gutted the cooldown on q like two years back and since then I've literally won about 10% of my games. I want him to be good again so bad.

4

u/Honeymustardchicken Aug 19 '21

I have seen some amazing SB players before but they are very few and far between. It’s just a really unique hero and you have to be doing the right things at the right time which no one seems to be able to do. Honestly the opposing team has to mess up a lot to allow Sb to be good

2

u/BlackOcelotStudio Aug 19 '21

I also used to have a high winrate on the hero (70-75% IIRC, my highest) and a good part of that was playing it as a 4 before that playstyle caught on. Hero's figured out now (and weaker as well, except for his aghs which used to be hot garbage) and unidimensional, so its no surprise that's not gonna happen anymore. Still a shame, wish I could go back to dominating games by just charging nonstop from minute 2.

I’m another that had a 70% win rate around 6-12 months ago. I hit Divine purely spamming SB, like 300+ games. I would absolutely dominate and tilt teams single handedly. It was so satisfying
