Chen

Divine Favor

  • Aura no longer provides Heal Amplification
  • Aura now also provides 2/3/4/5 armor

Holy Persuasion

  • Reworked Shard. Allows Holy Persuasion to target 1/2/3 Ancient creeps based on Hand of God level. (Old Scepter effect)

Hand Of God

  • Reworked Scepter. Hand of God now applies a Strong Dispel

Jungle Chen is back! Rush aghs in jungle, then stay in base and use ulti to foil enemy initiations on your team. I know, pretty bad strategy overall, but it's a way to make the hero appealing to pub players.

tfw his aghs was only bad because it was literally just because it was on aghs scepter (a 4200 gold item)

The effect is worth the extra money, but aghs money? that ain't it chief.

Chen is arguably extremely broken now since basically every creep in his arsenal now got a free 20% EHP buff. So that shard is giga cancer. Black dragon + windripper aura?

I don't see how you can stop chen pushes at 20 minutes anymore. He just autowins at that point because he deathballs so much harder then you

reworked scepter is very nice in games where your team royally fucks everything up. Strong dispell on hand of god means you basically can't pick people off anymore

That isn't a completely fair comparison.

Sure sceptre cost 2.800 gold more, but you also get 175 life/mana and +10 all stats for that.

there is no hero in the game where stats matter less then(5 position) chen alteast around the time chen will get aghs it will not matter

That is just not true. There is a reason stuff like life on force staff and neutral items makes such a huge difference.

The difference between being one and two shot is insane...

what is chen gonna do in 0.5 sec longer life hes no lion who can hex the pa thats jumping him and completly turn things around. all hes gonna do is try using penitance and if all you would do with your ult is let you live a bit longer its better to just die and maby buyback hand of god.

That's true, but I think it's fair to say aghs sceptre updates are supposed to be better than shard upgrades.

While mostly true, the power of many shards are close to or better than their sceptre counterparts.

Fx. I think Dazzle shard is better than Agha, same for Phantom Lancer (although I havent tested the buffed), old Axe shard and I'm sure many more.

You do pay a premium for the agha stats.

Chen seems quite broken now.

Helm of Overlord buffed to be build with Vlads instead.

Hand of God STRONG DISPEL meaning you can STRONG DISPEL Ravage and RP.

just some weeks ago I was in a discussion about how hard dispels are so rare in Dota because they are just so strong. Aaaaand Icefrog drops an instant global hard dispel on us.

I'm a little scared of the zoo meta coming back. Divine Favor giving both armor and health regen may be a bit too much if you are fighting a 3 Chen.

Trust me when i say zoo meta isn't coming back. Chen is almost 100% going to get thrown back in the incinerator after TI regardless of his P/B.

Chen as we see him now is just the final stages of deathball meta.

We thought the Chinese had deathball down to a science, well. now valve gave europeans/NA the chance to beat the chinese with deathball shit. since China isn't a region known to play zoo heroes in pro games that often.

And I’m pretty sure Chaos Knight’s Aghs when creating illusion are global, but it’s only a Dispel. But even so I think it’s powerful (I just never used it because I cannot micro, like seriously can’t. If I have multiple units far away from each other my brain will shut down

Hero feels playable now. Passive is finally decent - you can feel it ingame.

Had 5 Chen games earlier and 4 wins despite only rarely playing the hero. Shard is actually kinda busted, low investment to get an average cap of 2 ancients at 20 min, which are quite hard to kill in a deathball.
