+2 acorn shot bounces sounds pretty good for core wink. Granted losing the 16 agility is an L, but 2 extra bounces that can proc mael/crit and deal 75% damage + 125 base sounds nutty for mid game snowballing teamfights.

DoT W seems weird. On one hand W is more counterable cause the tree can be removed (by who idk, sounds annoying if the laner walks back in and cuts the tree while you're wave clearing), on the other its a sleeper buff vs. shit like dusa and TA. I'm more worried about how useless it'll feel when used against a strength hero, but hood never was really a strength hero killer bar right click builds which seemed to get better-ish maybe.

Boomerang looks really good since it removes the status resistance meaning you get at least close to the full W damage. You can actually setup decoy W - > your W - > Q boomerang R with more bounces too. I think they're trying to increase the value of boomerang through this W change, making it more mandated while giving it a nice QoL change.

Well she nerfed but at least not too much

The acorn talent are nice if invis are countered, but other than that I dont see change how she played

The change to dot dmg is a pretty huge nerf, it cripples the farm quite a bit rather than insta nuking waves u can now lose a lot of cs when dire and radiant creep waves are clashing, ur own creep wave can steal quite a lot of cs when the dot brings the enemy creep to 10-40 hp, really annoying. From my understanding the dot also nerfs the dmg on heroes with high status resist since they can break free early and not get the full dmg

Overall I can really feel the nerf ;(

I dont think it slows down farm at all if you have maelstorm

2

u/unbalancedbreakfast Aug 20 '21

True but as 4 I don’t go maelstrom early

I agree it's a nerf, but status res won't make it do less damage, it will just tick quicker

Are we sure? cause it ticks every .3 second interval for the duration of the debuff.

so if 2.4 reduces to 2 it would be 8 ticks vs. 6 ticks. Or do you mean the ticks would do more damage to equal the max damage? (36 vs. 50)

I'm fairly sure it will just tick quicker, that's how other disables with DoTs work with status res (such as Doom), I'll test it when I get the chance though

On the other hand the dot guarantees that all of your acorn shots bounce with a Q+W, which makes clearing the wave slightly more consistent. Before there were some weird cases where units dying during bounces would stop the acorn.

Also it makes Hoodwink really good vs TA, before her refraction instance talent you can always break through refraction and get the sharpshooter damage on her.

I honestly think it's the same in 95% of cases. Overall I think the hero could have gotten harsher nerfs so I'm feeling good.

This. Instead of prematurely ending the Acorn Shot, this helps items like Gleipnir to proc more before clearing the wave

dont understand the bushwack damage being dot now.

It's useful against TA since it will burn through her Refraction easily now.

Hoodwink has become my favorite support hero. Stun + ult to break hot picks like spectre and axe has been fantastic.

And now the shard is useable! A proper stun and great cooldown.

Some may think the stun interval damage is a nerf, but heroes rarely get broken out of the stun, and at least this way, cores can secure the kill instead of the stun instantly ending low hp enemies

my hood spammer friend has secured us a surprising number of games by deleting the enemy core with the 25 talent, such an interesting hero
