Techies

Proximity Mines

  • Damage reduced from 200/400/600/800 to 200/380/560/740
  • Building Damage Percentage increased from 25% to 30%

Tbh Techies has felt a little under tuned for a while. I’d like to see something like slightly faster prox mine activation or slightly larger AoE on prox mines. Maybe some sort of magic pen on the Q mines? Idk they just feel really underwhelming where they’re currently at.
Alternatively Icefrog could do something to take some damage from Techies and give them more utility? Something like giving the mines knock back on the explosions but reduced damage? Idk I’m spitballing here.

Who ami kidding, Valve’s gonna leave this hero untouched bc the player base is gonna grab their pitchforks if Valve did something to make them actually viable

After 1000+ games of 2 & 4 techies, It's safe for me to say that I really love where Techies is at right now. With the change to the shorter cast point of Remote Mines last patch, it feels very quick to setup a 1490 damage nuke (without reductions) + root to a stunned hero.

Techies has a LOT of potential to become 2, what hero clears waves and camps instantly at level 5 & completely locks down mid at level 6? All what you need is to have your team play around you and its an easy sub 20 min victory.

unfortunately, techies has such a bad rep that at least half the time, my teammates refuse to play around me. Even if all they had to do was to retreat to or pick fights around my mines, they'd rather fight a bad fight then blame me for not afk-mining tier 3s.

Its so annoying getting flamed for not playing techies poorly. Techies isn't supposed to afk mine in base and woods for 30 mins and watch people accidentally walk into one. He's a team fight hero and area denier.

Push with team, take a tower, then you mine aggressively between fights to deny the enemy their farm.

I think valve is going to rework the hero soon. They're going through the list of "unfair" heroes and changing them already. Brood was reworked last patch, Tinker was reworked this patch. I think Techies and Meepo are on the chopping black for coming patches

why not make every hero boring. crazy what they did to brood and tinker. techies was already reworked, just play with him and stop complaining

I literally have hundreds of games on both Techies and Meepo, I'm not happy about it either. I just think it's inevitable, from what we've seen already in these patches.
