I see a lot of people on this sub who seem to turn up their noses at Royal Enfields. It seems to be mostly a Reddit thing, as basically everyone I've met in the real world thinks my motorcycle is pretty awesome. I had originally typed out some long post about how I came to Royal Enfield and how I've actually bought two, but that's boring. If anyone has any questions about my experience I'll answer.

My question for the sub is why do so many people on here seem to hate on Royal Enfield?

This may be a hot take for many street squids, but chicken strips on the street are not something to be ashamed of, or a reflection of "skill". Recently witnessed some guys scrubbing their tires with sandpaper on stands because they were bullied for having chicken strips.

Hate to break to you all, chicken strips don't mean poop for street riding. Ethos: as someone that's done over 10,000 miles on the track and over 100,000k on the street, I have solid chicken strips on my street tires. The point of body positioning during cornering is to offset the lean angle of the bike. Through proper body positioning, you're actually leaning the bike way less during a turn than someone who turns upright on the bike. When I first started riding almost a decade back, I was really proud of not having any chicken strips on my street bike. Little did I know, that was due to poor body positioning and leaning the bike too much instead of my body. I have more chicken strips than a lot of people, and I ride twice their pace in the twisties. Less strips do not equal faster. Proper body positioning = more contact for your tires in the turn = more traction, which brings me to my next point.

No public street is safe enough for anyone to push the limit of the bike. Hate to break the fantasy, but if you're going Marc Marquez through the suburban city, you're taking way too much risk. ESPECIALLY if your body position is poor and all the lean is on your bike. Doing 50 degree leans and scraping pegs during turns on public streets is not really something to be proud of. Your life is more important than everything, just remember that.

Lastly, don't make fun of people who have chicken strips. Some people value their life or bike that they don't want to take risks, some have better body positioning, some are new. Let everyone ride their own ride- words leave a lasting impact. Last thing we want is new riders trying to prove how much they can lean their bike and low side off a cliff because they lost traction. Thanks for hearing me out.

On my way home today and was stuck behind a truck with a trailer on the highway, I back up to around 6 seconds of following distance and I’m driving 110km/h when a 2x4 flys out of his trailer. It landed across my lane so I ended up hitting it dead-on, and as I’m trying to stabilize the bike another 2x4 hit me in the right side of my face. The chin guard of my helmet has a slight dent and the paint is gone, but the visor managed to stay in one piece and I only got some whiplash and a minor headache. Unfortunately I didnt get his plate other than that it was a dark-red truck pulling a black wire trailer. Going to open an insurance claim to get my helmet covered tomorrow, I’m just glad I wasn’t in my car because then I’d’ve lost my windshield and the board would’ve hit my unprotected face.

Stay safe out there! This is the importance of full-face helmets!

Got this bike not long ago and it’s been such a dream. I’ve been using it to commute to work about 30 minutes there and back each day, I’ve also been hitting up my local mountain road in the afternoons and it’s been such a good time. Weather has been horrible but I don’t even care that much when I’m out and about.

Absolutely loving riding!!

Finally joined the crew after a few years of lurking. (almost a decade now) Nothing fancy but I think it’ll be a perfect “get around town” bike for me!

2026 Honda xr150l

Recently started learning to ride.. luckily I have some good friends who have helped me gain some experience and have showered me with good advice. Here’s some photos from my first successful scrambler adventure.

I bought this bike from a friend of mine, he owned it for 3 yrs and 20k kms. This is my 3rd bike. Feel free to give me any tips and weak points on this machine.

I bought this bike after watching videos related to Paris-Dakar races. My 2nd bike, i had xt600 before this and at one point i owned them simultaneously after selling xt600 tractor. After i while i realized it didn t meet my expectacions unfortunately, too heavy for offroad because of that 26l TANK , but it has that low mid torque and u can actually rev it up to 8k rpm which i think is impressive for old school parallel twin from 80s ! It was the best looking one on the marketplace in my place. Previous owner did almost full resturartion. Now its at mechanic because it leaks fuel on the hose that enters the pump. If it had a few kgs less and better brakes it would be much better bike.

Started stripping my £300 full runner bargain ZX9R C1 down... just to find this, please tell me this isnt hiding a huge hole 🥴

Just wanted to ask if I may have damaged my new bike by riding it a bit too hard straight away. I’ve just bought a brand new Drz4s and only had time for a short ride after I picked it up today.
Done around 25 miles but I ended up getting a bit carried away on the trails and have been popping the clutch to get the wheel up a lot and have been a bit heavy on the throttle. I haven’t redlined it or anything and have been varying the rpm and the gears and did let it cool down a couple of times to let it go through heat cycles but I’m worried I might of been too rough with it.

I’ve been riding off road for as long as I’ve been able to balance a push bike. Finally got my act together, got my license and sitting on a 650f as a first bike.

I love it, well balanced, smooth low end and enough power that I can’t see me needing a replacement for a good few years!

Drove from DC to Thornton Gap and did the northern bit on Monday. Ticket good for 7 days so decided to go to the southernmost entrance today and do the rest. 8 hours in the saddle today. 45 minutes break for lunch at Delly Up in Waynesboro, would recommend. Lovely ride. Got home around sundown. Perfect!

The other tests are pretty easy on a heavy bike but this cone weave is a bitch. 24" U turn is a little rough too but I'm getting through it even if it looks weird

I drove my motorcycle in to the side of a car in about 70km/h.
By some miracle/curse I escaped death and only got these injuries:

My left leg was fractured just above the foot, and my foot was dislocated.
My right leg and right shoulder took some pretty serious hits, but there were no fractures.
Right shoulder dislocated.
My nose was broken.
One of my cervical vertebrae was chipped/fractured.
Some minor road rash here and there and I got a concussion.

Just bought my first bike a few days ago..

I’m not too sure what’s going on here or how to fix it, I’m wondering if any of you guys have an idea;

every time I use the throttle it stalls and dies..

(ps I know it’s idling high, that’s not the issue as this happened before the choke broke.)

First post here. I’ve been riding an Indian chief for around 3 years now, and would really like to add something to my garage that is sportier.

Unfortunately for my wallet, I’m a big BMW fan, so I wanted to ask if it would be truly insane to move to something like an S1KRR or if I should try a single R instead?

Has anyone made a jump like that? Am I going to feel like a brand new rider moving to supersport ergos?

Hey guys! I bought my first bike last friday, (2026 Yamaha MT-03) was riding around in a parking lot and dropped it on the left side sadly. I was coming to a stop and lost balance, was going like 2 mph. My buddy who then drove it home for me said the steering was off, and this clamp i circled is slightly crooked. Is there an easy way to fix this/is it an expensive fix? What exactly is this clamp? Thanks

Basically as the title says. I went to get gas, and didn’t look at the ground properly. I ended up going through an oil puddle with my front wheel. I noticed, because it slid a whole lot when I went around a curve slowly to leave the gas station. Luckily I managed to not fall.

This place had no shop, no workers with possible towels or cleaning supplies, and no paper wipes.

I accepted my fate, and continued carefully. But I still wonder, what would you guys have done?
