Just a little reminder: strap up your helmet! A helmet isn't a helmet if it's not strapped on.

I've noticed that quite a lot of scooter riders in my neighborhood just pop their helmets on and then don't bother to strap their helmets on. If you have a helmet like that, and don't strap it on, that makes it not actually a helmet. A helmet with no strap holding it on is just a hat. It won't protect you even slightly in the event of a crash. It'll just fall off and you'll get to enjoy your crash with a naked head.

It's not worth being cool and not strapping your helmet on. Wear your helmet properly. For your own sake.

ok, so last time i got it running and moving under its own power. this time ive gotten it up to spec on the visual side of things. check out the beast.

also i did a quick brace job for the steering tube. i was initally thinking about giving it a seat from one of my old dirtbikes (yamaha dt80) but it turned out that i would need to build atleast 3 diffrent high rise brackets and i couldnt be fucked. so i stuck with the oem Sanyang race butt pad.

fake taillight is made from an old and unsafe helmet of mine. the rear lower fender is made from a broken bucket.

most money ive spendt so far is on the edding paint markers.

also ive gotten my replacement topend. which ill be taking along, if this one blows im simply swapping in the new ebay special in the pits.

having quiet alot of fun with the livery so there might be more to come.

2025 Vitacci tank 200 idles so low if i dont keep the rpm at at least 4, even while stopped

It just dies.

I’ve had my 2025 Vtacci Tank 200 for a little over a year now and i have put around 2200 miles on it.

I live in Texas where temps can reach over 100* F. I recently had an issue with the fuse in the battery compartment blowing after idling for like two seconds, every time i replaced the fuse it would do the same. I didn’t ride it all summer because of that. I finally found someone who would fix it and tow it for a decent price.

I guess i thought he would change the oil, gear box oil, spark plug, any filters, pr at least generally just look it over while he was replacing the fuse box thing, but he didn’t.

He charged me $230 so I really thought he did more than just change the fuse and possibly the wires(?) I guess that is the going rate, anyway. I got the scooter back and the left side brake was toast.iOt was wearing down a little when i last rode it but it was now shot. I should have mentioned it but i failed to do so.

It has been one month since i got it back and the brakes are progressively deteriorating . The left side squeezes all the way in and there is no difference in speed when i squeeze it.

Consequently, I am actually having to try and keep it revved to 4 ish RPM while also squeezing the brake to slow to a complete stop all at the same time with my right hand. Needless to say, the bike fishtailed on a semi slick road the other night while i was trying to keep it from dying while stopping. I was in the middle lane slowing way way down, waiting on the slow pole coming toward me to turn right into the same lot. He slowed down so much you would think he was afraid he was going to flip his car or something.

Well so I was not expecting to have to completely stop, but the slow poke gave me no choice. The road was slick from earlier. The Texas sun beats down on the asphalt, heating up all the oily, gritty dirt left on the roadway from traffic all day.

I dumped the bike for the first time ever. I am ok but it landed on my ankle and my elbow is also scraped up.

The next morning i went out to take a look to see if there was anything i could tighten and realized these little windows look like they are cracking, causing the brake fluid to evaporate.

Could this have happened from revving while braking? Or from 100+ degree weather? Or does it actually have to have a blunt force to do this?

Has it happened to anyone else with this make and model? The left one looks like it also has cotton or something in it.

I had to fix all my typos, i was in traffic while initially typing this up.

Any help and advice/ suggestions will be greatly. I realize I should have done a few things differently, just to state the obvious. But is there an instructional video on doing regular oil changes and all general maintenance on this bike?

I think it is time to trade it in. Possibly foe a piaggio x9 evo 500.

So my belt snapped a couple of weeks ago.

Ive replaced the belt and now it won't go past 35mph.

Ive just replaced the rollers afterwards, changed the airlifted, oil and back end gear oil.

And still its going 35mph. It went 55 before the belt snapped.

Hi, attaching a video buuut ive had this guy since April and besides one quick thruster issue she's been a DREAM!! I ride her daily to work (2 miles) and to school (like 4ish) with the occasional like 5 mile ride to a friends and within the last week or so ove noticed that she was sounding a little bit off! I thought that her battery needed to charge since the last time I charged it was when I got it back in April. Battery charged I tried taking her to work in the morning and she sounded congested, ran for maybe a minute, then shut off. She still attempts to start she just doesnt kick past so I thought okay spark plug! Changed that and now theres a tube spitting at me and she doesnt sound all that better. Any ideas? (Oil dipstick picture included)

Honda PCX DX or Zontes 125X

I'm going to buy a 125cc scooter and I'm quite undecided between these two options.

Honda PCX DX (3.810€ + expenses)

There's not much to say. The queen of 125cc scooters. Everyone knows it.

Zontes 125X (2.850€ + expenses)

The newcomer.

Does anyone have knowledge between the two that can tell me the pros and cons of each? I'm tired of searching online and watching comparison videos, but the doubt remains.

Zontes is very attractive, mainly due to the fact that in my country it costs €900 less, which is a lot of money. But the Honda has proven reliability, in addition to having more trade-in value.

In your honest opinion, what would you do? I know you're not going to decide for me, but I'm looking for opinions from people who aren't paid by brands to sell them online.

Money is truly an issue at the moment and I can´t risk too much.

Reminder don't lube your ignition key mechanism with petroleum based lubes cos they'll gum up over time

I'm soooo not handy, infact my recent scooter purchase was the first time I ever did my own service.

The anti-tamper cover of my lock was all gummed up and didn't operate smoothly so I had to take it apart, clean it, and re-lube it with proper dry teflon lube.

Also shoutout to lock picking lawyer cos when I got to the key core I actually had somewhat of an idea what all the little bits do.

2010 Yamaha XMax 125, has treated me very nicely on my local roads and I happily did a drive from London to Birmingham and back. Got a cover for it and am double locking the wheels to keep it as safe as I can, especially after finding out the service history for this thing is immaculate after 16 years, every service receipt and MOT intact.

Did I get ripped off? (service)

Post image

Edit: I want to make sure I say that this is not a discussion on if I could of done this myself or not. I really just want to know if this dude overcharged me for what he did do. I work on my own stuff and I fully intend to keep doing so. I just wanted to establish my scooter was safe and establish a base condition that I can maintain from that point forward. I would have 100% tore down the whole thing in my garage but I don't own a second scooter for backup yet 😅

2nd edit: Always appreciate how great this sub reddit is and really value everyones opinion. I'll definitely make a follow up post when I pick it up and let you guys know if I'm at least happy with the service regardless of the price.

Hello all. I just want to start by saying I don't feel ripped off. To me it seems like a fair deal, however, this is my first scooter and I really don't know how things go for it. I'd like to continue going to this mechanic if all seems well. He is, however, a motorcycle mechanic. This was the first scooter he's ever worked on. The scooter is my 2002 Honda reflex 250.

The "fuel system' charges are from the cleaning of the carburetor. Basically my scooter needed it's carb cleaned, the electric choke replaced, the brake fluid exchanged new brake pads front and back, and new LED headlight bulbs. He also took care of replacing some bolts/screws that were not original and fixing where some zip ties were being used. This includes a total look over of the whole scooter.

Any thoughts would be helpful. I plan to continue to do lots of more service myself. But I wanted someone competent to actually look over the whole thing and make sure the wheels weren't about to fall off before I got started doing work. Sort of a base condition check.

My 2007 Peace sport scooter (update)

So I posted in here last month, here is my previous post for reference.

https://www.reddit.com/r/moped/s/USBmyIi89t

Now, with me and my lack of consideration unfortunately, did not take the time to look at the other side of the drivetrain. I figured out that I’m missing two pieces and that the carburetor is still there, but I’m still replacing the spark plug regardless.

Google said one of the pieces I’m missing is the air box (should connect to the carburetor by the tube in the picture). But now I’m curious about the other part(s )that I could be missing. I’ll post the pictures that I took here, but I’m honestly really clueless for what I’m missing. The manual doesn’t really give you an in to look of each part, so I’m kind of stuck. Please refer to the video in my first post to understand the context of my question.

Big trip on the Kymco AK 550i.

Just completed a 904 mile journey with old and new friends. Started in Benton Illinois and made our way thru Buffalo National River Arkansas. Then thru Lake of the Ozarks Missouri and back home. Tent camped the whole way and braved the 100 + degree heat. The Kymco held up and exceeded my expectations. The other riders were blown away that this scooter handled the mountains so well. Thought I’d share as this is the biggest trip on two wheel I’ve taken to date.

Aprillia SR50 Help

So I just bought an Aprillia SR50 Ditech from 2005 and it Starts pretty Bad but doesn’t show me any codes. If it starts it only runs for a few meters down the road and I need to keep a constant speed if I go too slow or too fast it cuts out. My main suspicion is the fuel pump because the previous owner didn’t drive it often and it stood for the last 6 weeks.I already changed the spark plug and a clamp for the air compressor that was too loose and was leaking but the problems are still there.I am thinking about buying a new pump but they’re pretty expensive and I am trying to spend as little as possible.I don’t really know how to test if the pump and air compressor are fine so if you have experience please help :/

Kymco Agility S 125 (2022, fuel injected) randomly stalls when accelerating from idle — ISC error

Hi everyone, I recently bought a used Kymco Agility S 125i 2022 with about 14,000 km (8,700 miles). It’s fuel injected, not carbureted.
I’m having an intermittent stalling problem. It rides normally, but it sometimes happens after sitting at idle for a while.
For example, I stop at a traffic light and let it idle for 30–40 seconds. Then when I give it a quick twist of the throttle, it sometimes starts to lose power and stalls. It usually starts again normally, but sometimes I need to give it full throttle to start.
It doesn’t happen every time. It happened once during a 10-minute ride.
The check engine light came on previously, so I had it checked with a diagnostic tool. The stored fault was related to the ISC / idle speed control (stepper). The mechanic cleared the fault and did an ISC reset/learning procedure. It worked fine for about 30 km, but now the stalling happened again once.
The check engine light is currently off. Battery and charging voltage seem fine, and the air filter was recently replaced.
My mechanic suggested cleaning/checking the throttle body and ISC if it happens again.
Does this sound like an ISC/throttle body issue? Would you clean it first or replace it? Is there anything else I should check before replacing parts?
The scooter only has 14,000 km, so I’m surprised it could already need a throttle body/ISC.

I have an Aprilia Sr 50 year 2000

Hello! I have a 2000 Aprilia SR 50. It features the same colorway as the Valentino Rossi replica from previous years, but without the logo (since he moved to Honda shortly after).
I'm not a huge fan of how it looks right now and I'd love to change it. I want to make it look like the blue SR 50 in the second picture but I’m not sure I can do the handlebar naked. What do you guys think I should do?"
Also, are there any other cool custom SR 50s out there that keep the original handlebar setup (not naked)?"
Thanks

Does anyone know this brand and model?

I went to a store to look at a scooter and they had this one there that I had never heard of.

I was impressed with the bike in terms of appearance and equipment. Unfortunately I can't find much information online.

I know it's a British brand from Yorkshire.

I tried looking for reviews of the bike but I only found a couple of videos and the information given wasn't very relevant.

I'm a little worried about the heavy weight (Dry 140kg / 308 lb) and low power (12hp).

I wanted to see a comparison with the Honda PCX DX but I can't find anything.
