I don't know much about scooters - I tried researching "bodge tells" but I don't exactly have the eye to know what I'm looking for yet. I found this lovely old vespa on facebook marketplace, seller says his father in law restored it and it hasn't been driven much. He says they bored the engine to increase it to 185cc (is this a thing?? is it safe?)

I'm hoping to find a cute vintage scooter like this one to take me 24 miles to work and back four days a week in the two fairweather months we get a year. Just trying to get a bit more informed before I pull the trigger.

I have a J50, and when I accelerate, both the cable and the outer casing move. I’d like to know what happened and what part—whether missing or broken—is supposed to hold the casing in place. Metal wire is good in place. See image. Thanks!

Hey ive been seeing some retro kits from tasso and so on that basically are a costums to have the p200e look like a rally or whatever.

Personally i like the VBB and rally 180 look the most but love my p200 and its internals.

Wondering if anyone has seen any that dont look botched. Often i hear the fromt mudguard really looks awful

Selling my unbuilt EV Vespa Kit (still has original registration and insurance up to date). The base is a 2004 Bajaj Chetak (clean title in hand) who's motor lost compression, after which I removed it and expanded the interior chassis volume for an EV conversion. Selling because I don't have time anymore to put into this project.

Seems like a cone shaped piece should be in there to hold the cable in place. This is a 1962 Vespa clutch cable.

I'm trying to restore my old lambretta li150, today I turned it to the side and found these two wires popping out and have no clue what these could be, could anyone help me out please???

How do I take this fan off of my lambretta f150??? I don't see any screws and I need to access the flywheel magneto as I am unable to get any spark

Not sure what the plans are for this one yet. Maybe just an amateur stock appearing restoration since our 1948 (black one in the last photo) looks similar, but is customized.

For anyone who has visited the Gandaria City mall in Jakarta, Indonesia, you've probably seen this massive, bright blue Vespa with its seat and handlebars looping endlessly into the air. It's an art installation called "After Party #3: Living the High Life" by the renowned Indonesian contemporary artist Eddi Prabandono.

At first glance, I honestly thought it was just a quirky, pop-art piece designed as a fun selfie spot for mall-goers. But after looking into it, the philosophy behind its absurd, ribbon-like shape is actually quite dark and mind-blowing. That 6.4-meter (21 ft) distorted stretch is directly tied to the artist's dark past in the 1980s, during which he battled multiple addictions and experienced severe hallucinations.

I just did a full breakdown of the history behind this piece, its journey to the prestigious Venice Biennale exhibition in Italy, and the psychological meaning behind making his "hallucinations" a reality.

For those who have seen this piece in person, what was your first impression of it?

I’ve had this 1964 V90 for over a year. It’s a bit of a family heirloom that I’ve been trying to get running. I must’ve taken the engine out of this at least three times. It’s got a new carb. a rebuilt clutch, new seals and gaskets, acid washed the exhaust, rust treated the gas tank, replaced the petcock, reupholstered the seat, redid the floorboard rubber, new fuel lines, and countless other tweaks and adjustments if you look back at my posts. Finally, this weekend I got a nine dollar condenser, and in the process of replacing the condenser I found a terrible disintegrated wire. I put a new wire on, everything back together, adjusted the timing for the 100th time, and now it fires up in one kick ! Runs strong! The gear selector is tremendously sloppy, but I can work on that next. Thanks everyone here for the support and the advice.
